Hmmmm. Exactly one month in Canada.
Really if you are coming here, just be prepared for culture jolt. I stay downstairs (not basement) in a house with a Canadian guy, two Indian guys. Upstairs, there are two Nigerians and one other African guy (I don't know his nationality). Since the first day I arrived at the house, the Canadian guy has been very hostile. The Indian guy beside my room has been nice, my thoughts. Suddenly, the guy changed. If I'm coming to my room and he's going out, he'll re-enter his room and close the door. Happened like thrice. Then he stopped answering my greetings. Me too kuma stopped greeting him. The other Indian too has started this morning,.... Really strange!!!!
Be prepared to be on your own. Mine is even better, I have two Nigerians upstairs I can talk to. Some other people are facing their own without any friends. It can really be overwhelming. Nigeria culture is still the best. Even if it's eye service sometimes, it's still good.

You will have to be very strong, yeah very very strong!!! If you are an extrovert, you'll have to be triply ( x3 ) very strong.
If Nigeria is very good, Wetin we dey find for here. That's the zeal that will make us succeed here no matter the odds.

One day our Nigerian hustles go pay big time no mind them.......

About this 3 days hotel quarantine of a thing i asked Alot of people about this and were like they paid over 1000cad for the three days quarantine and was like Jesus for 3days I didn't want to believe it tho so I got the list of all 20 recommend hotels in Toronto Canada for 3days quarantine and download the booking.com app......

And made sufficient reserch tho some were insanely expensive above 1500cad and some were below 1000cad I was able to pinpoint 2that lists below 500cad for 3nights with breakfast included through booking.com app you can all check it out for those that wants to travel and going through Toronto and don't wanna spend much on 3days hotel.

1.) Embassy suites by Hilton Toronto airport
Pay on arrival at the property-456cad
Pay with dollar card on booking.com-536cad

2.) Holiday inn Toronto international airport
Pay at the property- 397cad
Pay through booking.com-467cad

There are other hotels that offers discounts prices also.....

I feel this medical update is done randomly but doesn't excede 2weeks when I did mine was told a week and it took 10working days excluding Saturdays and Sundays while some said they got it under a week so just be expecting it in the new week...

And for all those who are waiting for qlife update qlife does not send mails to let you know that your medicals has been updated likewise ircc you just login to gckey and get the shocking message that it has been updated.

Which one of the English proficiency exam did you tender to the school if it's IELTS then you are in luck you could just upload it but if it's not an IELTS then you need to write an IELTS you can write the academic IELTS.

We come here daily to complain about the delay and harsh treatment IRCC dish out to we Nigerians (even those with good intentions). For everytime we have this discussion, some persons say antecedents & ghost of our predecessors are hunting us daily.

It's one thing to pull through and charge a certain fee but filling a charge back is wrong o there are people who really wants to help but because of things like this they refrain to avoid being tagged a scammer, no wonder we are not taken seriously.

It's not the big thing that matters but the little things, there are still genuine people on this platform that can render help in diverse areas.

Quick question: If one wishes to travel to Calgary and the chosen airline has a stop-over at Toronto, will he have to do the three (3) day quarantine at Toronto or he can proceed to Calgary without any issues and do it there.

Basically which city counts as POE - Calgary, or Toronto?

Good day @the shaman if your port of entry is Toronto you must undergo a 3day Mandatory quarantine in Toronto before going to your intended destination for the remaining 11days.

To save you stress Alberta has a port of entry for international students also and Calgary is a city in Alberta

So just book a one way flight to Alberta if your school is in Calgary after the whole quarantine a private taxi should take you to Calgary.

Though I was denied last year and the same reasons for the denial (which I addressed to the best of my ability) are what is reflecting on my GCMS notes now in the preassessment part. So I would like to know if the preassessment notes are for this application or the previous one. And if it's for my current application, is there a way to address the concerns before I receive the final decision?

Post baccalaureate diploma is not the same as a post graduate diploma

Postbaccalaureate programs are reserved for students who are working toward a second bachelor's degree or a second entry degree.

These programs are offered for those who already have a first undergraduate degree.

Post Baccalaureate programs are not considered traditional graduate education, but it is more advanced than a bachelor's degree.

On the topic of it's advisable to go for it or not it all boils down to your wants if you enlighten the house more we might be able to input more.

Please I submitted my application on April 20,2021 and did biometrics on April 23, 2021. I observed on my profile that I have been given a biometrics identity number and also d date I did the biometrics was also captured. But on the part of the biometrics it is still showing I have message, instead of it to indicate biometrics updated. Has anybody encountered such pls? I have attached a screenshot

They have not updated it yet try to exercise more patience I know how hard it can be waiting for ircc due to high volumes of other applications.

So yours would be updated gracefully.

Prepaid card also has limits to international payments you either use a domiciliary card or get someone to pay for you outside the country.

Someone suggested flutterwave barter card on this forum you can try it out if it fits your requirements.

It has finally ended in praise for me. God bless Frankrobbn, Justmellow, and the many others that have been giving me hope and answering all my plenty of questions. Note that I used an agent or my application because i was too busy with work to continually study the tips on this thread and apply them. I am a second-time applicant.

Timeline:
January 20th: Medical done


January 27th: Application submitted with all NSE requirements- Sponsor's 1-year Mybankstatement of about 11million, IELTS result with 7.5 band, and Medical result.
February 20th
February 26th: Second ghost update
March 4th: Third ghost update
March 9th: Fourth ghost update
May 4th: PPR and correspondence letter


Reason for the first refusal: They said that my finance wasn't sufficient even after i submitted an account statement of 12million and paid my first-semester tuition.

How i tackled the refusal: I paid the full tuition for the first year, provided the sponsor's account statement of 11million and i also made a notarised affidavit of sponsorship signed by my sponsor. I did not use a notarised affidavit of sponsorship in my first application but i used an affidavit from the high court. A friend advised me to use a notary lawyer for my affidavit and so far, everyone that i know that used a notary lawyer was approved. Notarised documents are recognized worldwide.

Immediately i logged in and saw that my application has been updated i was like; "these people with their ghost updates again" before i clicked on the application and saw my correspondence letter and PPR. I immediately ran and woke my dad from sleep to break the good news to him. He has always been supportive.

with the rate at which Naira is depreciating, is it advisable for someone to submit a domiciliary account statement that was opened three months ago for his student VISA application? I heard four months bank statement is always required.

I don't think 3months is good enough at Least it should be 4months upward it doesn't matter if it's a domiciliary account or not if it's 4months and above and fulfilled the requirements of tution fees for a year with living expenses then you are good to go.

Try to find someone with dollar card or open one with GTB.. u will be charged 20usd for that. Activate it and pay application fee.. or better still anyone outside nigeria can pay for u not necessarily in Canada. A friend in UAE paid for me when I encountered same issue.

You question is not quite clear but if it's for a study visa application Nigerian naira card won't work if the payment excedes 100$ so it's either you find someone with a domiciliary account or someone in Canada to pay for you.

1.) Using a diploma results to apply for a diploma program does not sit to well you should be going for aiming for an higher program. Except if the new program you are going for is different from the one previously obtain with a good convincing sop then you would be fine.

2.) For fees ircc mandates a year of tuition fees plus 10,000cad for living expenses so if your tuition fees for a year is 32,000cad plus 10,000cad for living costs you are expected to have 42,000cad in your account before applying.

3.) No one here can really tell you if the fees are costly as you said it all boils down to what you want if you see the school offering you what you want then it won't matter the fees.

As for other options there are community colleges in Canada offering 2yrs diploma or 3yrs advanced diploma in Canada you can tailor it to the province you want..
