To do what? In a commercial transaction! The new owner will go to court for specific performance and an order of court for him to return the unsolicited funds to an interest yielding bank account in the name of the CR for collection by the previous owner whenever he wishes. The day he goes to collect the money is when he will discover the government is also interested in picking up some of it for helping him keep it all the while!

Tear the original car document.
Thats the only way to resolve the issue

Speaking from experience.
Waste of tearing!😊. The fellow will make the necessary depositions by affidavit attaching the evidence of payments for the car. The new owner is good to go. Folks should think things through before they act!
Car Talk / Re: My Neighbour Jacked Up My Car by zoedew: 7:26am On Feb 17
Missowombo:
Dear Family landers. I am here to seek your advice on how to rescue my car from my neighbour.

I bought a car, direct from abroad, a very clean and sweet ride, and registered in September, 2023 (5months ago). However, due to the high fuel consumption( V6, 3.5l engine) and the ever unstable fuel price today, I decided to put it up for sale to get a smaller engine capacity. A neighbour expressed interest in buying the car and decided to pay in installment which I agreed. I was also searching for a replacement at this time hoping to use the money realized from the sales to get my preferred ride. My preferred ride prices were shockingly high such that even if I doubled the price I gave to my neighbour it will still not be enough to buy the new ride. Prices rise by the hour these days in Nigeria and I have no hand in this crisis. I returned to my neighbour to inform him that I will not be selling the car anymore due to the present crises in prices of goods in the country. I apologized profusely for every inconvenience and transferred his money back to him. He got angry and said that I must submit the car key and documents to him. He even threatened to send his community and area boys to beat me up and extract the above items.

I came back from work to see my car jacked up, surrounded by 2 other vehicles to prevent the car's exit. For the records, there is no written or signed agreement between him and I concerning this sale. I refunded all his money 1 day after he paid his last installment and kept back my car. I have no hand in Nigeria's current problems. I am pushed to use force here but I am thinking that some initial peaceful resolution could be an option.
Gentleman, surrender the car keys to your neighbour who is now the new owner of the car and find a way to beg him to return the free and unsolicited money you sent to him. You have a concluded commercial transaction here.

Imka:
The Israeli government gave me a budget,” the retired brigadier general confessed, “and the military government gives to the mosques.”

“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” Avner Cohen, a former Israeli religious affairs official who worked in Gaza for more than two decades, told the Wall Street Journal in 2009. Back in the mid-1980s, Cohen even wrote an official report to his superiors warning them not to play divide-and-rule in the Occupied Territories, by backing Palestinian Islamists against Palestinian secularists.
Not the issue here.

How do you suggest we move on. Your assumption that everyone here lives a "miserable" would need a reexamination Sir. A Nation's socio-economic well-being is not the sole determinant to gauge whether her citizens live a "miserable" life.

Your crass and gross ignorance that made you this foul-mouthed just got the better of you! Folks who associate with you here should know you better now. Pick up a copy of the Nigerian Constitution and you will see that the essence of government is to secure the realm. Food security is a major component for achieving that. You lack home training. Misguided elements. What is the foundation for the alliance? Opposition to the insistence that the military focus on defence and not run the government. They will fail. North Korea too far away to make any difference. The people will ultimately rise up against them and do the needful when the suffering becomes unbearable. Folks hardly ever learn from history.

https://punchng.com/food-crisis-no-plan-to-establish-price-control-board-says-tinubu/?amp
This man is not listening to sound advice and will lose the next Presidential Elections if he continues this way. It is elementary that when a food crisis occurs the price must receive Government intervention to deal with the resultant effect of price increase arising from demand and supply fallouts. The formula is 1.Gather in what is available by government buying them from the farmers at a good price that will encourage them to produce more. 2. Ensure access for the people to what is available by regulating prices of the commodities. 3. Provide security for farmers to go back to the farmers by introducing "locate and kill" measures in dealing with banditry, terrorism and allied security challenges. The next harvest season should be better. e.t.c.
Politics / Re: 6 Decisions From President Tinubu's Meeting With 36 Governors by zoedew: 8:52am On Feb 16
Waste of State funds attending the meeting. Meaningless decisions. Deal with Corruption, Tax the wealthy more, Deal decisively with insecurity. Focus on power and agriculture. No need for "decisions". Just get the job done. The Constitution already contained these things.

Politics / Re: ASUU Raises Alarm Over Government’s "Failed Promises" by zoedew: 8:40am On Feb 16
ASUU is just waking up now after the largely conscienceless and roguish National Assembly just spent N160 million on each legislator buying SUVS for themselves. Such times call for Labour Unions to rise up and block waste by declaring strikes to checkmate waste and corruption. Imagine how much in dollars was spent buying those vehicles!

God Save NJC and Nigeria
Get better educated on this matter. You should soon discover that a Judge of Northern origin was recently sacked by the NJC and specifically recommended to be handed over to the Police for Prosecution. Northerners are also creatures of God and should not be looked down upon or denigrated simply because they are Northerners. Truth is, Northerners are smart and extremely good administrators. Very straightforward, simple and honest folks. The downside is the tendency for violence that could cost you your life unannounced largely propelled by an ideology a large number of them subscribe to.

"The NJC said the Osun State judge erred by entertaining proceedings for enforcement of a judgement purportedly from a Kwara State court “when there was no evidence of a judgement of the Kwara State High Court before him, neither was there a Certificate of Registration of same in Osun State to confer jurisdiction on him.”

Mr Falola was also found wanting for conspiring with some lawyers and court officials to execute a garnishee order without appropriate recourse to the law.

PREMIUM TIMES exclusively broke the story in an extensive report in November 2019, detailing how Mr Falola prostrated before a lawyer who represented Polaris Bank in the suit; seeking pardon."

Travel / Re: Photos From Herbert Wigwe's Crash Site In The US by zoedew: 8:06pm On Feb 14
ValCon888:
Considering the location and time of the crash, it's highly likely the Wigwes had planned to attend the Superbowl holding in Las Vegas.

Many people don't understand the difficulty in flying a helicopter compared to an airplane.

Once a plane generates enough lift, it takes off. All the pilot needs is to get the aircraft to cruising altitude and after that he can sip a coffee or go use the toilet. The plane will fly itself until its time to land.

Helicopter pilots on the other hand need to actively control the aircraft from take off to landing.

In simple terms, they need to control the helicopter up and down, and left and right while the helicopter is moving forward.

Don't forget you're simultaneously controlling the X axis and Y axis which tilts the nose and tail up or down like a seesaw.

And this doesn't include landing the helicopter which is another challenge by itself.

There are so many variables that can stall the helicopter causing it crash.

A perfectly good helicopter can crash because it's traveling over a pocket of thin air and can't generate enough lift. If there's engine or rotor trouble, just start praying to God.

In sum, if you have alternative means of transportation use it. Only travel by chopper if it's absolutely necessary you do so.
That is why choppers are essentially military equipment and used by civilians to make short trips.

Family / Re: My Mother Wants To Throw Me Into Bankruptcy by zoedew: 1:17pm On Feb 14
KingintheNorth:
Hi Guys. I am posting for a friend who doesn't want to be named but he seriously needs your advice and possible suggestions on this matter.

He is the only son and has a sister , his father is also still alive .the problem is his mother, she keep borrowing money in hundreds of thousands and expecting the son to repay those loans. She wouldn't even inform him before taking loans, he only gets to know about it when the loan sharks come knocking. He has been paying back loans that have run into millions for the mother for the past 6 years. The painful part is when you ask her what she is using those monies for, she will always say she doesn't know or does not remember.
Each time after promising not to take loans anymore ,before you know it she will take another one. The son usually pay her monthly upkeep money so she is not lacking anything.

Right now she is in serious brand new debt and she's running to the son for rescue and he is fed up. He can't abandon the mother and also can't keep paying back loans he doesn't know anything about.
Does he own anything in common with his mum that can be seized where she fails to repay the loan? If not all he needs to do is ignore her. she will learn by experience to not borrow indiscriminately .

Health / Re: 55-year-old Father Of Six Commits Suicide In Ibadan Over Economic Hardship by zoedew: 12:23pm On Feb 14
When depressed about the turn of things in Nigeria it is best to do the following:
1. Be thankful for life.
2. Be thankful for health.
3. Be thankful for family, friends, neighbours and co-workers.
4. Reach out to co-travellers in destiny such as Classmates, Age-grade and friends with whom you share mutual commitments.
5. Keep working at the occupation you have at hand no matter how little it seems.
6. Look around you and you should soon see that you are not in the situation alone. Others are also passing through similar situations.
7. Ensure your cloth fits your size per time. Let family and folks around know what you are capable of.
8. Finally, look to God for help!
9. You should be okay.

I hate to use the power generator. I detest the noise and environmental pollution. Solar power has come to the rescue. Researched and Developed for use by the Developed World though the 3rd world harbours the most of the sunshine required for the generation of solar power!
