Food / Re: Help! Is It Possible To Save My Egusi Soup? by zoedew: 9:05pm On Feb 29
thymetraveler:
Omoh yesterday I prepared a delicious egusi soup, garnished with chicken breast, pomo, goat meat, titus fish, dry fish and okporoko (stock fish)--in addition to other essential ingredients like spicy (knorr and star), pumpkin leaf, etc etc.

Had a go at it yesterday evening and it was really good smiley
Then I warmed it like around 11:00pm.

This morning, I warmed it like around 8:00 am; I would have frozen it in my freezer but I was expecting a fellow friend who'd told me he would be coming around so I didn't see the need for freezing it yet.

Now, this evening, I just remembered it when it was already 9:50pm--that's the thing sometimes with remote work; one could get engrossed in it sometimes especially if it's my kind that has to do with coding/programming and code analysis.
I just totally forgot sad

By the time I got to the soup, I saw it was almost starting to "foam", and I quickly put it on fire. After warming, it doesn't have the fresh taste it had anymore. Tastes a LITTLE bit sour and lacking flavour sad

Has anyone experienced this? What did you do to the soup (or what can be done)? Food experts.

Mods...
Egusi soup no get shame! I had that experience back in time.

Ceiling fan go dey blow and heat go still dey do you.

Few weeks ago I was at the court, the judge told the lawyers to remove their robe and wigs because of the heat. She came with her portable rechargeable fan.
Nigerian Judges have my sympathy the most! The Lawyer puts up with poor infrastructure and heat in the courtroom only for the period he must conduct his case and leaves. The Judge typically does a 9am-2pm so he can pick up 500k at the month end. Not all looks bleak for the Judge though: he is driven around town in a brand new SUV worth tens of millions and picks up other perks in the course of his career.

Truthful Statement!
Now that Prof Nnaji have found permanent solution to Aba Light-On,by By- Passing the Fraudulent National Grid,we de watch, who go de damage the Gas- Pipeline or blow it up?
Those govt appointees, are part of the Corruption,as they are not ready and willing to step on shoes of the wicked once in Power Sector, because Corruption is thriving in these Govt Institutions like Gemco and DISCOS!
Nigerians are tired of talking, without action! It is the Action of Prof.Nnaji that brought Lights to Aba and its environment!
•Lagos State Govt too, can breakaway from National-Grid,like ABA,if they are willing to--for Different DAMS can be Constructed- in Epe, Ikorodu and Badagry- as Cheapest for all you have is Sea and Ocean Waters surrounding to roll the Dam-Wheel and give us Permanent Lights!
•This is what the Chinese are using in China to generate about 135,000 Megawatts Light to their Communities!
•Very soon,ABA will be celebrating years of permanent Lights, like the Ghanians,in their Country!
•What are the State Governments doing with all the Homongous NBILLIONS,if not NTrillions in their States?
For me, I just read the most informative and balanced comment on this thread!

A video has gone viral showing a Nigerian man shocked as he watched a Rolls-Royce car being refueled from a simple keg on the roadside. The luxurious car, known for being very expensive, was parked by the side of a busy street while the driver poured fuel from what looked like a regular container.

Shared widely on social media, it surprised many Nigerians. In the video, the man recording couldn't believe his eyes as he saw the driver carefully pouring fuel from the keg into the fancy Rolls-Royce.

Politics / President Tinubu, Invite Prof. Barth Nnaji To Be The Federal Minister Of Power. by zoedew: 10:02am On Feb 29
For years now, Prof Barth Nnaji has shown capacity to help Nigeria overcome her electricity infrastructure challenges and recently proved this with the recent commissioning of the Geometric Ltd IPP that is set to provide 24/7 power to Ava in SE Nigeria. President Tinubu is urged to walk the talk by inviting Prof Barth Nnaji to be the Federal Minister of Power. Just so he demurs at doing so Governor Sanwo-Olu will do well to invite the Prof to help Lagos out in the matter. FDI will fall head over heels to have just a pie of the Lagos electric power business with a focused driver of Nnaji's pedigree in the driver's seat.

I will create a topic in that respect on Nairaland in the hope that Nairalanders will view and comment on it enough for the mods to push it to front-page where it could be seen by the FG. Our journalists have not helped matters. I am not aware they have advocated well enough for the FG to have this man onboard as power minister. Yar'Adua was set to declare an emergency in the power sector with Nnaji in the saddle as Power Minister. When I was a tot ECN was run by Easterners who did well.

Nnaji is the only known Nigerian that can genuinely solve our power problem.... obi planned on making him head of power just like yaradua did...obi made plans to protect him from power cabals ..... if obi wasn't rigged out, we would not be in this situation we are today...but tribalism dealt a bitter blow on us .... reason I support Biafra , let's all go our separate ways, if ur region decide to elect a donkey as president then enjoy the grass as food
If Tinubu is serious about solving Nigeria's power problems he will do well to invite Nnaji to serve as Power Minister and not the swimmer only in name who presently occupies the office.

It's a private project and it takes almost two decades before it was completed. The project worth $800M and it's servicing 9 out of the 17 local government in Ábíá state.
What is $1 billion dollars relative to the sums stolen by wicked, corrupt and insensitive Nigerian politicians who long ago should have a date with the guillotine for misgoverning Nigeria. Atiku is one of them. Obasanjo who was President when Atiku was Vice-President published a book where he referred to Atiku as a thief. Till date, Atiku has not sued Obasanjo for libel in defamation of his character! Atiku is a thief! I got that from Obasanjo's book. I'll wave that book in his face should he sue me!

This man Atiku as the Vice-President of Nigeria decades back was in a position to reposition the electricity power industry in Nigeria when Obasanjo as President gave him free rein in the privatisation of State assets but what did he? He feathered his nest and that of his cronies and left power as comatose as it was before he had charge. Atiku is well known to be a critical stakeholder in the power generating set business in Nigeria. When Atiku pontificates in the manner he does here he insults the intelligence of Nigerians who know where he is coming from. Atiku will do well to be quiet!

I went to the market to buy Akpu two days ago because I was very hungry for swallow food but the size of 100 Naira Akpu (fufu) has been giving me sleepless nights. You have someone who is willing to give you 5 million naira in this present economy and the person asks you to choose between using the money to sponsor your education in a PRIVATE university for 5 years or use the money to start up any business of your choice. Assuming you are in your early 20's say 20-23 and considering the current situation of things in Nigeria, which of these options would you pick and why?
Bringing this here showcases you to be as insensitive as, if not more, than 10 Betty Akeredolu and 12 Siju Iluyomade combined. Now we know who you are!

It is well. The operations of witch Siju Iluyomade in RCCG is finally put to and end hopefully. Here husband is married to her and only death can do them part. Imagine a Pastor's wife who claimed to be born again inviting flavour to provide entertainment in the celebration of her 60th birthday! Effectively she was thanking the devil for her life! Sad that it took Herbie's death to showcase her demonic inclination and free RCCG leaders from the bondage of her bewitchment overtime!

Politics / Re: Peter Obi Expresses Sadness Over Ochanja Market Building Collapse In Onitsha by zoedew: 7:00am On Feb 28
DamnnNiggarr:
shocked

It was really a very gory sight to behold.
The incidence occured at exactly 08:45 PM, yesterday, and I was just passing by.

The one that wrecked my heart completely was the cry of a man that was trapped, crying for help, but the building's deadload was just too much for our punny strength to overcome.

I couldn't stand the sight and cries of those trapped as I immediately left the scene, I didn't know what later happened to them.

For the safety of the general public,
it's about time the government swung into action to address building collapses in Nigeria, which requires a comprehensive approach that involves multiple stakeholders, just like my Boss pointed out above. The government must, especially number 7, enforce strict compliance to these possible solutions below, viz.

1. Implement strict building codes and regulations to ensure that construction projects adhere to safety standards. Regular inspections and monitoring are crucial in this regard.

2. Improve oversight of construction projects by requiring licensed professionals such as Quantity Surveyors, Architects and Engineers to be involved in the cost management, design and supervision of buildings.

3. Educate the public about the importance of building safety and the dangers of cutting corners during construction. Empower citizens to report substandard construction practices.

4. Enhance the capacity of regulatory bodies and local authorities to enforce building regulations effectively. This may involve training programs, resource allocation, and technology adoption.

5. Provide technical support to builders and developers to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to construct safe buildings.

6. Develop and implement emergency response plans to swiftly respond to building collapses, including search and rescue operations.

7. Hold accountable those responsible for negligence or violation of building regulations to deter future incidents.

8. Foster collaboration among government agencies, construction industry stakeholders, academia, and the community to collectively work towards ensuring building safety.
Public historians will do well to examine Anambra State public records to see what Peter Obi did in that regard when he was governor.

Other States will do well to follow suit. Presently the noise of the muezzin is disturbing my sleep . Daily he starts about 5am from about 3 or 4 of his buildings scattered around my place. In contrast in Abuja his call is dulled and not loud enough to wake you up if you are not expecting him.
