Whilst you might have a point about Ndigbo mobilisation, there is not a chance Ndigbo could go it alone to defeat a Yoruba APC person in Oshodi-Isọlọ, maybe Ajeromi, not Oshodi-Isọlọ.

What happened was he rode on an Obí goodwill and was voted by all tribes, including a good chunk of Yoruba. He clearly wasn't a true LP party member as you can tell from him hopping to NDC where I believe he lost in the primaries.

Ndigbo in Oshodi-Isọlọ don't number up to 20%, people mistake SS and even some MB as Ndigbo to suffer a higher number.

There is no single polling unit in Oshodi-Isọlọ that has more non-Yorùbá's combined than Yoruba, talk less of Igbo, not one.

I thought this guy lost out in NDC primaries to another Ndigbo so unless he has decamped, his political career is dead and buried.

He rode a crest of a wave in 2023 and quite frankly, has spoilt it for non Yorùbá's born and brought up in Oshodi-Isọlọ that would have been worthy to represent the people of that constituency. Pure selfishness.

The overlooked point is what the percentage of Igbo registered to vote in that constituency to that of Yoruba also registered to vote in the same Constituency is. Politics is a game of numbers. So long as the Igbo ensure that the number of their kith and kin registered to vote is dominant will their choice of who represents the constituency prevail. Matters allied to that submission is what I have been trying to draw attention to all day so we all can learn but the moderators in here whose prism are as narrow as can be kept covering the comment and banning me from making comments. I think that is quite shameful and takes away from the value of Nairaland!

Hunye should stop the distraction, you lost the apc primary, the party candidate is senator Solomon Adeola Yayi and instead of joining the party, he is busy running from court to court and from obasanjo to other elders.

He should also remember to meet gbenga daniel who is not in good terms with Dapo Abiodun, since he is looking for elders to run to, APC has moved on. Yayi is our candidate for 2027. no meeting or court case will change it.

Politics is a game of numbers. The voters register knows how many registered voters are there in his constituency and Joe knows how many of them are Igbo!! He knows what he is talking about 2027 new year holidays will be cut short by Ndigbo to quickly return and vote him back for a second term. Those who fixed the elections for early 2027 are thinking about how to whittle down Igbo votes in Lagos knowing that many of them spend the better part of January of each year staying in their villages to enjoy the money they have worked in the preceding year but the Igbo have seen through the strategy and are set to surprise them!

He knows what he is talking about. That is the cold truth and he will win a second term barring electoral malpractice targeted at denying him the electoral victory. celebrate Seyi Makinde for giant strides in good governance. Seyi Makinde is in terribly short supply of political maturity and sagacity. One big way to make up for such a defect in politics is to cultivate the friendship of the folks who are politically matured and sagacious. Seyi Makinde had such a company in his corner back in time but lost their company when he got intoxicated with the political influence his association with them afforded him! Now we know who is who! Seyi Makinde's loss in the 2027 Presidential elections will be a classic case of from political grace to political grass. Seyi Makinde should have moved over to the Senate where he'll get ready for the next the Yoruba will have a go at the Presidency. Going that way I was poised to follow him but not again!

You will reassess your position in the matter when you take a closer look at Oyo State and how Seyi Makinde achieved those results. Seyi Makinde has mismanaged ALMOST ALL the political alliances that worked for him back then. He is an isolated politician in Oyo State politics as we speak. All he has to his benefit is Oyo state financial and Human Resources which can only achieve so much.

The difference between APC and Atiku’s party in the 2023 presidential election results in Oyo State was around 250,000 votes. That margin will widen in 2027 with Makinde on the ballot. The contest is between APC and ADC, whatever votes Makinde gets won’t matter.
Makinde’s presence on the ballot will hurt Atiku even more. Atiku got 183,000 votes in Oyo State in 2023, but with Oluwaseyi on the ballot, I doubt Atiku will get up to 10,000 votes in the state in 2027.

One of the reasons why I say that Seyi Makinde is a political infant. Were Seyi Makinde not a political infant he would know that it serves his political career better going forward to pitch his political opposition stance with Atiku and Amaechi his in-law in ADC or in the worst case with Peter Obi and Kwaks in the NDC.
