It's utterly baseless to claim Peter Obi promised to turn Anambra State into a Dubai. A more pertinent question would be to ask about the state's condition *before* Obi took office. Anambra was in disarray: no functional government house or governor's lodge, no state secretariat, a defunct school of nursing and midwifery, a broken healthcare system, and rampant crime, including kidnapping and robbery. There was no infrastructure development whatsoever; virtually nothing was operational, creating an atmosphere of despair. Peter Obi established the groundwork for the Anambra State we see today. Therefore, I find such disparaging remarks against him deeply disrespectful.

There was not a single teaching hospital in Anambra, and no investment in the state whatsoever. Insecurity, robbery, and kidnapping were at an all-time high. Anambra had no internally generated revenue (IGR) because godfathers had taken all the funds allocated for the state. So, Peter Obi laid the foundation for what we witness today in Anambra. He built state secretariats and state assembly complexes, constructed the Upperiweka 10-lane expressway, revamped schools and returned them to missionaries, built hospitals including the Amaku Teaching Hospital in Awka, opened doors for both foreign and local investors to invest in the state, supported indigenous motor manufacturers Innoson Motors, and acquired thousands of vehicles from them. I'm for Anambra and it doesn't matter if an Ebony man is elected as a President provided he has the character, capacity, and competence to deliver the job. We must stop bringing down other people cos we believe we are the best. I don't see the reason why you should drag Peter Obi into this and please let's end this nonsense comparison. What we should be bothered about is how the Southeast should develop. This thread used to be very fun and interactive up until recently. Let's behave like civilized people.
