I think we need to be careful with the kind of comments we put out. Enough of this negative narrative. I'm for Anambra and it doesn't matter if an Ebony man is elected as a President provided he has the character, capacity, and competence to deliver the job. We must stop bringing down other people cos we believe we are the best. I don't see the reason why you should drag Peter Obi into this and please let's end this nonsense comparison. What we should be bothered about is how the Southeast should develop. This thread used to be very fun and interactive up until recently. Let's behave like civilized people. Anambra, IMO, Abia, Enugu, and Ebonyi we are all one and I see no reason to hate each other. I come in peace. |

Peter Obi's achievements, Exemplary commitment to reforms and development. Building relationships between the Anambra state and other countries such as the USA, Britain, Russia, the European Union, Belgium, Israel, Venezuela, and others. HE Peter Obi attracted big Fortune 500 companies like SAB Miller, Distal and Glaxo Smith Klein, Nimeth Pharmaceuticals, etc. to Anambra State. Under him, Anambra state was rated the least indebted state in Nigeria by the debt management office. Anambra was judged by the federal ministry of works the state with the best network of roads in Nigeria. Having asphalted over 800km of roads. He reopened long-closed schools and returned missionary schools to the original owners with a grant of six billion nairas for their rehabilitation, distributed over 30,000 computers with internet access, and Microsoft Academies to over 500 schools. Anambra state students for the first time achieved first place nationwide in the 2013 entrance examinations. He purchased 1000 buses from indigenous manufacturer Innoson vehicle to secondary schools in the state and various vigilante groups in the communities. He also provided boreholes to over 300 schools. He also built classroom blocks in all the 177 communities in the state. He ensured the payment of over thirty-five billion nairas in outstanding pensions and gratuities in the state since 1991. Before he became governor, no single health institution was accredited in the state, but under his administration, 10 schools of nursing midway and medical technology, as well as two hospitals, were accredited. Peter Obi stands for justice and fairness and was the first Nigerian governor to reclaim his governorship mandate after three years in the court, giving confidence to others to pursue their stolen mandates. He was also the first governor in Anambra state to serve for two terms since the democratic rule in 1979. Obi's greatest legacy in office was his financial prudence. He fund a development project without borrowing money from financial institutions or raising bonds and he handed over to his successor, Willie Obiano, also an alumnus of LBS, the sum of 75 billion. In recent testimony, the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Amichi, right reverend EO Ikako, spoke glowingly of Mr. Peter Obi, while advising his successor, Mr. Willie Obiano, to tow his checkered steps. |
