Last i checked, moved from London to Kyiv.

I know the wait is draining but try ordering notes again. I'm positive they'll contain some new information. Keep being strong, you'll surely get your PPR.

Hi everyone!

I know this may not be the right place to post this but for those who have gotten COPR, PR and the likes you may be able to chime a tip or two to help especially if you were once in a similar situation.
its wil be 15 months soon since AOR and i have not heard a word from IRCC. I have sent emails, ordered GCSM notes , done everything within my power to see what is causing the hold up. Medicals has expired, they didnt even ask for a re-med yet. Last GCSM noted i got in september 2018 said security check had not started, everything else looked ok.
I am moving on with life o, but i can't help with this hanging over me like a fruit hanging from a tree but out of my reach. My sister in canada said maybe the fruit is not yet ripe so i should wait for it to drop by itself grin grin

Any tips will be appreciated on what to do besides sitting like a duck.

That means your AOR was sometime in November 2017. What's your visa office? This feels like the handiwork of AVO.

Please I need your advice
Cc
Salford, TheCongo2, KendrickAyomide

I've been an ardent follower of the Aussie PR thread and I know a thing or two but recently, I made contacts with my cousin in the US (citizen of Canada but recently moved to the US but family is still in Canada) he's proposing to help me move to Canada but said I must learn JavaScript first since he is a developer himself -said that's what is putting food on his table and wouldn't want me to make same mistakes he made when he landed years ago. (I have no background in coding only graphics)

His wife is a Canadian immigration lawyer so according to him, it would be easier for me as she would be in charge of everything but my problem is the JavaScript, he gave me a book but everything looks like Arabic, I also joined one of his weekend classes on zoom (live video lecture) but my 1.5gig/mnth data got exhausted the following day so I've not been joining the class since then because I can't afford 1k on data/week . I was able to get some videos on JavaScript but I'm still not getting any headway since I don't have enough time to study (I just concluded a training for a job I'm to start next month).

As it stands, I don't want to squander this opportunity and I want to leave this country ASAP but the clause is what is giving me headaches.

Is it not possible to move over there and find a job maybe blue-collar and learn JavaScript on the side?

Please, I'd like to ask if blue-collar jobs are easy to come by in Canada like in Australia while I take online JavaScript classes in my spare time since most of these countries have free wifi?

People who are already over there please I need your words of advice. I'm at crossroads, I'm not thinking straight and I know the job I'm taking up next month would not give me the luxury of time to do other things so I'm thinking of just getting some pocket money from the job while I plan my travel.

I don't know if all I typed here makes any sense but if you understand, kindly offer your advice. Thanks all.

All you've typed makes sense but I just can't understand why your cousin insists on you learning Javascript. There are several things you can do in Canada, everyone must not be a programmer. Besides, knowing Javascript does not give you any advantage in getting PR.

Through what route is your cousin proposing to help you move to Canada? Have you checked to know if you are eligible for express entry? Have you used the crs calculator to know your likely crs scores? If you haven't, I suggest you do so.

Also, even though your cousin's wife is an immigration lawyer, I would strongly suggest you handle your application yourself. Every information you need is available on the sister thread.

Please is there anyone who has a space to give out at either Qlife or IOM for this week?
I have been given PPR and Remeds. My PPR is for 15 days but I only have 10 days left. I've tried but can't seem to get a near date.

Alternatively, does anyone know a staff in either hospitals that can help?

The medicals is for just me.

I know I can ask for extension on my passport submission but I don't want to. After 9 months in the clutches of AVO plus an interview, God finally released me.

Hey Guys,

I have a friend who is trying to come to Canada. He doesn't wanna do it himself as he wants an agent or lawyer help him process his documents et all. Is anyone able to suggest an agent or lawyer I can recommend for him.

Disclaimer: Please dont try to respond by telling me to convince him to do it himself or read page 1 and the likes as that option is off the table. I promised I was gonna reach out and find out if there is anyone using an agent or an immigration lawyer et all is why I am asking for him

I recommend Mark Holthe. He has a Facebook group called Express Entry Law. I have consulted with him twice and I can tell you he's honest, kind and patient. I believe he first holds a paid consultation before taking a client on. If he doesn't think your friend stands a good chance, he would say so and not collect further payment.

Hello People, good to be here after like a year. My question:

I have just completed my Msc IT from NOUN, results are out but the certificate isn't out yet. Which evaluating body can I use to quickly start my evaluation with the results alone?

I also hope I can get a Canadian Masters equivalency, cos anything short of that will not give the needed boost.

Anyone with experience or input along these lines

Thank u

Please what was the duration of the programme? A friend is considering going the NOUN route so as to boost CRS points.

Hi, please I need advice
I am 23 years and single.. my fiance and I plan on getting married this year then put in for express entry.
Is it advisable we get married then do it or we just apply as singles
He has a law degree and law school certificate while I have bsc.
we both have 2years+ work experience
Pls which will fetch us more points..single or married
and do we have good chance

P.S we are taking our ielts exam very soon

I could give you an answer straight-up but it will only make you come back for more or worse still, take my words for it. Therefore, I strongly recommend you read page 1 thoroughly. That way, you know where to go for certain inquires and you're not just basing your decision on a total stranger.

Interest is only charged after you graduate or you're not going back to school. You usually have a grace period of 6 months after you're done school to start paying it back. Each province can be different. Even as you start paying it back you can claim some reduction on your taxes and get some of the interest you paid towards the loan. Student loan is by far the best loan one can get to go to school.

Thanks for this. I've been thinking about it as I plan to do a bridging program without running down my POF.

Now the man gave us a background story. You can see why you don’t just type anything that comes to your mind and be more sensitive. Even his so called apology was filled with insults.

This should not be addressed to me. My initial comment did address his harsh tone. If you have an issue with Maternal, please address him directly. Don't come at me - probably because you figure I'm an easier target.

Bros no vex. But to address everyone who claims I'm insulting. The application process to get PR is not easy. You can't tell me, especially as a business man, you and your wife did not sit down and discuss the move across the Atlantic ocean. You're making it seem like you randomly applied today, then got it the next day. Then to say "i have decided to go with them and settle down in Canada for the sake of my children". That's pure BS. If business was booming like that, you'd do a soft landing then be flying back and forth in the meantime. Also that statement sets up your children to be blamed for any mishaps that may occur when in Canada. Such as: "see junior, I'm in this position because I came here because of you". Leave the children out of this.

But back to the matter. All you had to say was me and my wife planned this migration and I am extremely nervous leaving all I know for a new country. Can anyone help me with business or employment ideas as the day is reaching, and my nerves are getting the best of me. Is that so hard ? The rest is unnecessary. It's ok for a man to admit their scared. I believe people have answered your question. Find out what interests you, then research how to achieve it.

Hmmm...interesting point of view.

Everyone claims they're a hustler until it's time to hustle.

1. You benefit from this move as much as your children

2. Find out what interests you then map out a plan on how to achieve it in Canada. Right now your braining is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

I get your message but for the poster who is in a dilemma at the moment, it could come across as harsh or insultive.

Allthough I've somewhat become accustomed to your way of expression, it would be nice if you can perhaps be more subtle.

**I hope you don't find my comment offensive. It's not my intention.**

Thanks for your input on the thread.

No sir/ma.

First of all they are two different NOC's, ergo you cannot claim them both in your EE application because you can only have one NOC to run with.

It must have been paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation (NOC skill type 0, A or B).

Cheers.

You are wrong here. NOC combination is allowed and people on this thread have done it. The only thing I was unsure about is if the second work experience can be used since it's less than a year.

Continuous means:

no breaks in employment over a one year period

Please note: Work experience may consist of back-to-back jobs with the same or different employer(s) (with no gap in between), but at least one year must be in the same NOC occupation as your primary NOC declared in your Express Entry profile.

What about a scenario like this:

1) 2 years and 7 months in NOC 1
2) 6 months in NOC 2

There's a break in between both employments and they are in different NOCs. Can points still be claimed for 3 yrs work experience? Or the second work experience must also be at least a year?

I really do find the combinations confusing.

You are wrong. He is qualified.
I'll advise the original person that asked the question to go check the minimum requirements on Canadian immigration website. He's qualified with multiple full-time jobs that sum up to at least one year in the same field of practice.

Thanks for the correction. Would he also be qualified if the experiences were under different NOCs? This work experience thing has been debated before but it seems I'm yet to fully understand how the combinations work.

So despite working as a doctor in hospital A for 11 months and then hospital B for 7 months, i don't meet the continuous work criteria?

PS. Hospital A is my NYSC, so what happens if i include the three weeks NYSC camping?

I didn't use NYSC as work experience but lots of people do. Hopefully they weigh in on it.

I have worked for one year seven months. Place A from June 2017 to April 2018. Place B from May 2018 till date in the same NOC. Does this count as a continuous work experience?

I don't think so. I think your work experience has to be AT LEAST one year of CONTINUOUS work in any NOC under 0, A or B.

So far, the longest you've had is 11 months.

We are getting married by March. Just want to know if we can start application with her maiden name.

Probably I didn't ask the question the right way. What I mean is, we are applying as a couple but she hasn't changed her surnname yet.

1. The only way you can include her in your application is if she is your wife, not girlfriend. Therefore, you might decide to put off application till you both are legally married.

2. Even after marriage, she can still bear her maiden name. She need not do a new international passport all over again - unless she wants to. All you need do is include your marriage certificate in your application.

Note: IRCC does recognize common law relationships but proving that is a Herculean task. Do you both have investments/properties together? Child(ren) together? Joint account? Living in same house for years? Etc.

In reality, the Accra visa office is not the only one stalling on applications. The same Ottawa office people want their files to be transferred to is stalling on so many inland applications.... I have friends whose applications are 7 and 9 months gone respectively. From Vancouver to Vegreville to Winnipeg visa offices, inland applicants are suffering the same wait times and stalling too.

Abeg leave that matter. We are not saying there are no exceptions in applications being provessed in other VOs. What we are saying is that in AVO's case, delayed applications is not the exception but the norm, as in the standard.

Please don't try to compare Ottawa with Accra. It's very insulting to Ottawa - and annoying. They're not mates biko.

Happy Sunday all.... So, a friend today called to tell me about "London School of Information Technology Limited" whose institute was sensitizing prospects for Canada that if they enrol & do a course with them for a particular course "Hands-on-software testing" (1Month duration) & secures employment from here in canada, it nullifies your proof of funds as you only do IELTS, Medicals & Evaluation. I am telling my friend that it is either scam or open work permit & not migration o but she no gree believe me as they held a seminar today self @ Allen.... My people, abeg follow chook mouth for this matter oo o as I intend to show her your feedbacks. Abeg, make una respond o.

If this were true, everyone of us - including me, would have done the course. Who wouldn't like to avoid POF hassle?

Please tell your friend to stay away from that scam. Yes, it is scam. Your friend can ask them for the IRCC Web page where such POF waiver was mentioned. If they cannot pinpoint on IRCC official website, then it is scam.

Meanwhile, when is their next seminar coming up? It will be nice if those who are into the Express Entry process attend and ask eye-opening questions.

Like seriously, you can't just imagine how shocked I was too while reading it. Peti....wetin? Na by force to wan enter another man's land with fight

It's a pity.

For those who didn't know, know this now - as a West African applicant, until you get your PPR, AVO is a reality that looms over your head. Even if your file is being processed at another VO, your file can still land at Accra if the officer handling your file is overwhelmed with work or just feels that you might need to be interviewed. So no one should feel unconcerned because they're presently not under AVO.

Perhaps you haven't heard of people who got sent to AVO for interview and 7 months later they are yet to get an interview date.

As a matter of fact, people whose Visa Office is not Accra should be equally concerned. If your file gets sent to AVO from another Visa Office, you join the queue and your processing time begins afresh. AVO couldn't care less how long you've spent in your primary Visa Office. Feel free to inquire from those who got transferred to Accra from other Visa Offices.
