Compu001: Guys I have a technical question. I will be detail with it. I have a friend in the UK, he came in as a student but didn't go back to Nigeria,so his student visa expired. He want to get out of the system to Canada. Can he apply from UK If no, can he go back to Nigeria to apply?? If he go back to Nigeria, will they not capitaliz on his overstayed stuff in UK??. I just need ur advice, so has to advise him accordingly. Thanks I believe your friend will be fine applying from Nigeria. I don't know about the UK. I also overstayed somewhere for about 2years. I was very concerned about my overstay but my research online and consultation with an immigration lawyer in Canada, shows it has no effect - so long you have no criminal record. I'm 3 months post AOR. Received GCMS notes today and no mention of overstay. |

A friend's predicament Single mum 3 kids Ielts LRWS 8.5,9,7,7.5 ECA.... MSc Age 39 ( 40th birthday in a month)
Crs is 423
She has HND should she evaluate it? Will it help or just keep hunting PNPs MSc is higher than HND so evaluating the HND will add no point. PNP seems to be the way out. |

Thank you. A couple of days. I had someone doing the follow-up on my behalf. |

Santino1: Sometime it's okay to admit you don't know what the question is or simply just "jump and pass". And I don't mean that as an insult. As a Postdoctoral fellow myself, I struggled with the question of how to navigate my academic career in Canada and was on the verge of ditching academia. However, I have made tremendous progress over the last six months and I will share some tips and advice at the appropriate time as I am very busy at the moment. I just don't want you discouraging people, that's what compelled me to post this snippet.
@iamforcanada, dudade, and other prospective researchers in the house. I'd be sure to mention you when I get around to posting a detailed response.
Cheers and good luck to everyone. Calm down. He or she may not be totally right but the input makes alot of sense. |

Gracemama: hello house, please i need a contact for a very good immigration lawyer, preferably based in Canada. I would recommend Mark Holthe - founder Express Entry Law Facebook Group. He's experienced, compassionate and straight-forward. He wouldn't accept payment unless he's confident of a positive outcome - reason why a consultation is the first step. I have consulted with him twice and his patience gets me all the time (expecially when Internet connection begins to misbehave). After my last consultation with him, due to some issue with my card, I couldn't make payment for over a week but he was so nice and understanding. |

When she write IELTS, relaity will set in. When WES evaluation matter come, she go calm down. Make we pardon her abeg. Plus she plans to crash learn French for 4 - 6 months and then write and pass the test. Very soon she'll realize that not only is Jesus Lord, but khaki no be leather. Newmum0615: I haven't even seen one word of congratulations from you to anyone here. All you do is ask, ask, ask. Yet you want people to leave rejoicing with others to come and answer you. You should do better. Learn to give back. It's not that hard. You're so right! She just joined the thread few days ago and has been asking back to back questions that could have been avoided if she had taken a bit of time to do some reading and researching of her own, like several peoole here adviced her to. I wonder why she's bent on facing IELTS now despite the advice and considering that her simulated highest crs score is not solid. She's likely to make costly mistakes at the rate she's going. |

May5ive: I just calculated my CRS score.
438points! (Heard the cut off is 442)
Lol, I mean that's if my IELTS is quite high. When I added french score, it skyrocket to 495!
So, I'm gonna do french too!
So my next move would be to start preparation for IELTS & the French test! Dearest May5ive, calm down . This journey requires a lot of calm and patience. I know it's exciting but such high excitement can make one crash and burn. There are hurdles - more than you can understand at this point. Do you speak French? If you don't, I strongly suggest you ditch the learning French plan and go for a PGD instead. Many Nigerians (who have been speaking English since birth) have to rewrite IELTS multiple times, let alone one who's just going to learn French. Besides, the first best thing to do is your ECA because that takes time. IELTS takes only a couple of weeks and has a validity of just 2 years. Be calm and read about EE as much as you can. That way, you'll make informed decisions. |

May5ive: Hello Everyone,
Thank God I've found this thread. It's been my dream of relocating, but I'm planning 2020. I wanna use the next 2 yrs to get an Msc from Unilag, after that I start the process. What do you guys think?
I'm self funding myself, so of course during my MSc I'd be gathering money.
I want to present myself as VERY skilled, hence the MSc first. I have 3+ years working experience. The reason you were been referred to page 0 is because you'll get some important information there such as crs calculator, proof of funds requirement, list of work experiences that are considered skilled by IRCC and much more. So, having a masters degree will certainly give you an advantage but if your present qualification and work experience is able to yield a good crs score, then it's best you start right away. No one knows what plans the Canadian government have for the future. You should also see if you can provide the funds required. It's a good idea to read page 0. Are you female? |

nkigirl: We never lived in Angola. My husband would go for just 3 weeks to a month and return to Nigeria to stay for like a month. He had like a work permit. Sometimes a regular visa. Since you lived in Angola, maybe you had a temporary resident visa and you were able.to get the PCC. Please correct me if I am wrong. If you were a commuter too or you had a regular visa you had to renew every 6 months or yearly, please let me so I can know it's indeed possible to get for our class of visa It's possible. Perhaps whoever told you PCC is issued based on visa categories spoke with the wrong official. They need to go to ministerio da justica e dos direitos hunanos (situated in Luanda), where the PCC is actually issued. Like I said, going to enquire may not be enough. Your representative needs to be persistent - even if it entails spending the whole day at the office. Note: Angolan PCC has no stamp on it, only a signature. It's best to have it authenticated at ministerio das relacoes exteriores (also in Luanda), where it will be stamped. |

nkigirl: Hello guys. Semi silent member here. I need advice on an issue. Long post ahead! My husband worked in Angola a few years ago as a commuter ( 1 month in and 1 month out) but left the company and has been in Nigeria. We tried to get Angola PCC for our PR application. We called the Angolan embassy in Nigeria and asked if they issue. We were told they do not and we should go to Angola. My husband's visa had expired and it wad tied to his company. Getting Angola visa is really difficult. We contacted some people still in Angola and they couldn’t help. So we asked my husband’s former office in Angola to assist us to get the PCC. The HR Mgr (an Angolan Lady) replied that the govt doesn’t give PCC to people who have work permits. They only give to people who have temporary resident permits or permanent residency permits. Then the hr manager offered to write a letter vouching for him that he was of good conduct during the time he was in Angola and they had full responsibility for him. We attached this letter, the emails with the hr mgr explaining how and why she couldn’t get PCC for us and a letter of explanation. We also know a permanent resident in Canada had used this same format with a letter of good conduct from her and his PR was approved. Anyway, when I ordered the 1st gcms notes, we noticed that our PCC was referred to an agent for “best efforts review” which we passed and then passed R10.
I just got another set of gcms notes now and I saw an officer’s note that said “checking with Nairobi about Angolan PCC availability”
What’s scaring me is the fact that I know some people who got the PCC through.means I won't state here incase CIC is reading. So I know for a fact that some.people have this PCC. And I don't trust the Angola. Government. They are like Nigeria. Not straightforward. I don’t know what to do now. My AOR is Nov 24th and I believe this is what is the cause of my delays. I need advise on how I can make my case strong or whatever. All inputs are welcome. Thanks. I got my PCC in March. Infact, I got more than one because they made a mistake in the first one. You mentioned you know some people who got their Angolan PCC through means you don't want to mention here and I wonder what 'means' you're referring to because the process is straight-forward enough. They initially object to it but if the people you sent to registo criminal were persistent and patient enough, your spouse would have gotten it. And yes, I got mine from Nigeria. P.S I've lived in Angola and I wouldn't compare it to Nigeria. I think it's a better place. |

Concerning The Children's Practice medicals, I noticed a few people complained about the secretary being rude. I am also a 'victim'. At the time I thought it was a one-off but it seems it's in her character.
I just called the hospital to let them know of the complaints about their secretary. I also mentioned they need to let people know they now have a cap of 40 people per day so people can go prepared, especially those from outside Lagos.
Hopefully they'll act on it. |

Do I need to raise a CSE to that effect or it doesn't really matter? |

bizguru000: Good Evening family,
A close friend of mine submitted her application today (AOR) but realised she forgot to include her deceased dad in the immediate family members section. She raised a CSE immediately after AOR today stating this was erroneously ommited and also included her deceased dad's relevant details in the CSE.
Should she withdraw the application from fear of misrepresentation?
Thanks It's not misrepresentation at all. She simply made a mistake and already raised a CSE to that effect. There's absolutely no need to withdraw the application. |
