You can reword the one under the applicable NOC. Or you can send me a PM. We can work on it together. But try to come up with something before you send the PM. I can help with fine-tuning it. Trying to encourage you to DIY. Google is a good place to start.

Hello! Just want to let you know that there are more people rooting for you than you may know. Your contributions do not go unnoticed - even we, the not-so-active members, see you.

We look forward to your joyful announcement soonest.

Pls seniors in the house. My husband is the PA and our CRS is 456 without me having to write ielts,i only evaluated my result. However I want to confirm if I still need to write ielts cos I heard its one of the requirements for job and citizenship(expired or not). Pls house how true is this as I am confused and don't want to waste money since our score can fetch us ita speedily.

I don't think you need IELTS. Your husband's score is high enough. Meanwhile, this is the thread for you...

I'd advice you write the IELTS, Academic in particular. I am in same situation and my wife is going to write. You never can know where you would need it. It's better you do that now and get it done with while you are still here, when you get there, you may have less time on your hands

Hope this helps!

Your advice is quite off. What happens if the citizenship requirements changes and expired IELTS test reports are no longer accepted? What's the point of writing IELTS now when citizenship is at least four years away (they haven't even got ITA yet)?
Besides, she clearly mentions that she doesn't want to waste money.

Like you, I have also made up my mind to go into IT fully. Not only is IT marketable, it doesn't require all those certifications and conversions (many) other professions need.

I have decided on being a software developer for a start. I've been in contact with a kind-hearted member of this thread, who has been working as a software developer in Ottawa, and he has helped with a lot of counsel and good materials. If you're interested, let me know. Coding is fun though.

I'm not in Canada yet but I have put in my PR application. I just want to be as prepared as I can before moving to Canada. I've made up my mind not to do any job outside of IT, even if it means going the internship route.

Hello house,
After 10 months in Winnipeg, I think it's high time I begin to plan for the future and leave this rat race. I have made up my mind to go into IT though I don't have IT background but I very good with computer and own a few blogs and ecommerce site I created myself.

I enrolled for python programming online but has been unable to give it enough attention. I need advise on where to start from.

A friend said I should take Itil certication and blend it with my management background. Another advised me to do A+.

I want to do something that I can easily get a nice job and also be able to start my own firm later in the future. I don't want to be an employee for long.

I really want to learn python language but I feel I need to have a more solid IT background before venturing into programming. Anybody in IT field here? Your advice is desperately needed please.

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their contributions. This thread is so enlightening....not even Google compares.

I hope to migrate to Canada soon. From my research so far, Ontario seems to be the best place for IT and I would love to have a career in IT. I do have a BSc and PGD in Computer science but not much experience neither do I have any certifications.
Please I need recommendations on which area of IT to get certifications on, where to get these certifications and how long it might take.

I'm also having difficulty deciding on where to live in Ontario. I know of Toronto, Missauga, London but not so much else. Personally, I love a green peaceful place with good job opportunities for IT.

I have been reading from page 0 and currently on page 104. I'll definitely read every page but I was hoping to get advice on IT certifications so I can start immediately.

I would really appreciate any advice I can get, especially as I know no one in Canada.

Thank you.

Take your money and put it as a down payment on a new house. RBC bank has a program that assists new immigrant in purchasing their first home in Canada. Visit a RBC branch for more details. You have to be living in Canada for less than 2 years to qualify for that program. There will be no credit check.
There is no better investment than purchasing a home.
Do that and thanks me later.

Good-day,

I sent you a message a few hours back. Please, Kindly respond.
I'll also be typing my concerns here and will greatly appreciate your input...especially as it seems you're an IT professional and based in London, Ontario.

Please can I just love your post? I just read through the whole ACCA thing. I can't imagine how long I kept searching for programs to increase my Crs.
I have a Biochemistry Bachelors. Am I still qualified for this? I want to prepare in 3months and take the exams
Please what's the total cost for everything ACCA from start to finish

Someone gave an estimate several pages back. Read again. Asides knowing that ACCA is a faster route, I don't know much else as I personally do not need it to boost my crs score. I'm only rooting for those of you who may need it.

Hello FAM,
I was on this Canada parole 2 years ago but ignored it for some reasons. Now I'm back.

Turned 29 some days ago.
Took the Noun PGD form on the 16th of this month but unfortunately I couldn't join in this semester. I hope I'll be able to round off March 2019.
I'll start working on my IELTS immediately to max points for English test.
My spouse has IELTS SLRW 7.5,6,6,6.5.

1) Please is it possible I get my NOUN PGD certificate and credential evaluation before I turn 30 May next year if I resume September semester?

2) With max points for our English and my PGD, my crs score will stay at 450. Do you think this will fly for ITA?

3) I own a registered business I've been managing and running for over a year. What will be my most appropriate NOC?
Please what documents do I need to show for self employment?

You might want to ditch the NOUN PGD plan. A more reliable, flexible and faster route has been established - ACCA F1-F3 courses which gives you a diploma in Accounting and it is positively assessed by WES.

Read several pages back to find all the info you need to make an informed decision.

For all of us considering ACCA F1-F3 pls go ahead.

This proof you see here is for F2 and F3 as exemption was claimed for F1. So if your degree permits you to claim exemption, pls claim for F1 only bcs if you claim for more than that, you will not get a positive evaluation but if your degree does not qualify you for exemption do F1-F3. 6 months intensive can make this happen for you.

Oya make una go read una book. The exam is not as easy as it sounds oo but it's very doable. This one sure pass TEF or any other degree program o.

See ECA screen grab below

Gracias

Please which of the evaluating bodies did this ACCA F1-F3 evaluation? So people can know for a fact who they'll be patronizing.

You sound quite insensitive. He/she clearly explained their situation and the basis of the fear. Incase you do not know, losing an OINP is mentally torturous and it's enough to instill such fear and caution in anyone. I declined two ITAs and I never liked the feeling, so I can imagine what he/she might have felt loosing an OINP.

The process is draining enough already. Be kind or simply ignore.

Hello guys,

Am looking for a Diploma course to enroll, so i could claim point for 2 certificate or more in the express entry.
If you know of any school in Nigeria or outside (with reasonable price) please advice.

Thanks

The most popular route seems to be via ACCA. People have mentioned that completing the foundation courses leads to a certification which is recognised by the evaluating bodies.

You can search the thread to get more info about it.

Do a nairaland search of travel section 'nti transcript' or 'nti eca' or national teachers institute transcript' so you can see what others have posted on this.

Also search for 'ACCA F1 F3' the knowledge may come in handy.

If you don't know how to do nairaland search veg page zero for instructions and if it's not there ask Google 'how to do nairaland search'

I do know how to do a search and I have done that. Reason why I made reference to what people said about NOUN and NTI PGDE. What I am asking for is if anyone knows how soon NTI PGDE result is available for use after completion of the programme. I have already filled the form and I'm bring prompted to make payment but I was hoping to get info on the above to enable us make an informed decision.

While I appreciate you taking out time to respond, you do come across as dismissive. Anyways, thanks for reiterating the ACCA bit...I found that helpful.

HELP PLEASE!!!

A dear friend desperately needs a PGD (in any course at all) to upgrade her points for Express Entry. From the comments here, it seems NOUN is closed for the year and although the form is still up on their website, nothing happens when I click 'Apply'.

Someone here mentioned PGDE from National Teachers Institute. It seems theirs is still on. Please does anyone know how soon one can get the result once one is done with the programme? It's a race against loosing points via age. I got my PGD result from UNIBEN years after I finished my programme...I don't want that to be her lot.

Please any recommendations of schools with quick results will be highly appreciated.

Make una help us abeg.

Now please this is an SOS call please. I need to get a reliable contact to process my baby's passport urgently (Abeg no spam/scam zone biko, we cant be depleting PoF anyhow now). The two people I had have said no booklet and I really need to get this out of the way.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever you do, please avoid Lagos unless the person is ABSOLUTELY certain you can get it urgently. I really advice you flee from Lagos passport offices at this time. Did mine mid last month and I paid for express. It was only two days ago my contact called to say it was ready. Even as at the official collection date given to me, the passport was not ready because no booklet.

Hello all,

I did my Postgraduate Diploma part-time (Friday noons and Saturdays) while working full-time.

Can I get points using this work experience or it's not acceptable by CIC? If yes, what documents do I need to convice CIC my programme was indeed part-time? My ECA from WES doesn't mention full-time or part-time.

Thanks.

I have two questions. Filling ITA form.
1. For native language/mother tongue, should I put Yoruba or advisable to just put English.
2. For credentials, should I upload ECA alone or upload my degree certificate along with ECA.

Upload your degree certificate(s) along with your ECA. I hear applications can be rejected/refused if you fail to upload your degree certificates.

Please do they send the verification by email or post?

By post and they usually address it to the registrar. I strongly advice you contact someone to go to the school on your behalf. Sometimes they need you to give them some money before they take any action. It takes about 2 to 4 weeks to arrive at your school.

House please respond, I want to know how I can make online payment to British council. And do I have to pay for ECA using ICAS ? Please your response matters

Going by the comments on this thread, IQAS is the best. IQAS is different from ICAS...note the difference. I used WES but they can delay for Africa. However if your degree is related to medical sciences, there's a different evaluating body for that.

Before you can make payment to British Council online, you first need to register on their website. After registration, details on how to pay will be inboxed to you. Remember to scan your international passport data page as you will need upload it when registering.

Do we have option for online payment in Nigeria? I've not heard of that o.

If it's possible, who enjoys stress. I can pay with my card. I'm tired of all these tedious registration processes.

Yes! I guess it's new. However, I did my registration few days ago and I went with the online payment option.

After filling the form on the British Council website, an email will be sent to you saying your seat has been reserved for the date you chose but you have 5 days to pay else the reservation will be cancelled. The mail will also include information on how to make payment (online and offline method).

I just did an online transfer from my GTBank account to the British Council account.

Please note that you will need to upload your international passport data page when filling the form. So you should have it scanned and saved.

People should be using transfer...British Council's account number isn't static here: let's use $$$$$##** for example...dollar sign represents d city u wanna do d test,d two hash signs epresent d month u want to take d test and 2 asterisks represent d last two digits from ur passport.

After u have written the N68,000 in words, put a comma and write ur full ref number with hyphens, put a hyphen and write ur full bame.
Account holder: British council.

No need to dhl a thing or hassle to their offices. Even Ikoyi isn't easy for Lagos folks. And d queue there is annoying as they understaff d customer service desk. I think they wonder why we still bring in draft. I told them to go and educate d banks and their staff.

Some banks or branches don't know jack on this..so after getting ur code which is the acct number u will input, print off this attached file for convincing them that bank draft is d difficult costly old method. Even GTB at Adeyemo Alakija had no clue until I taught them.

Online payment is the best. I paid online four days ago and I got a confirmation mail two days later. I wasn't even required to go to the British Council office for anything.

I use GTBank. Very stress free.

Browsing through Iqas, I see they evaluate NCE as three years post secondary diploma. If I add that to Bsc, I should be able to claim two or more certs.

Now, the big challenge is IELTS, which I am ready to write early or mid next month but I don't have my passport currently cos it is with embassy for student visa. I have a copy of its biodata page and all evidence that my passport is with embassy. Can I use the biodata copy and other ID for IELTS exam?

Elders of this room advise. Your boy is willing to swim in the pool.

No. You need to present your international passport on the test day. No compromise.
