Sunmisire: I don't think you need IELTS. Your husband's score is high enough. Meanwhile, this is the thread for you... https://www.nairaland.com/4472519/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/249#68223659 |

gasplant: Your advice is quite off. What happens if the citizenship requirements changes and expired IELTS test reports are no longer accepted? What's the point of writing IELTS now when citizenship is at least four years away (they haven't even got ITA yet)? Besides, she clearly mentions that she doesn't want to waste money. 6 Likes |

Like you, I have also made up my mind to go into IT fully. Not only is IT marketable, it doesn't require all those certifications and conversions (many) other professions need. I have decided on being a software developer for a start. I've been in contact with a kind-hearted member of this thread, who has been working as a software developer in Ottawa, and he has helped with a lot of counsel and good materials. If you're interested, let me know. Coding is fun though. I'm not in Canada yet but I have put in my PR application. I just want to be as prepared as I can before moving to Canada. I've made up my mind not to do any job outside of IT, even if it means going the internship route. papaking1: 15 Likes 1 Share |

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their contributions. This thread is so enlightening....not even Google compares. I hope to migrate to Canada soon. From my research so far, Ontario seems to be the best place for IT and I would love to have a career in IT. I do have a BSc and PGD in Computer science but not much experience neither do I have any certifications. Please I need recommendations on which area of IT to get certifications on, where to get these certifications and how long it might take. I'm also having difficulty deciding on where to live in Ontario. I know of Toronto, Missauga, London but not so much else. Personally, I love a green peaceful place with good job opportunities for IT. I have been reading from page 0 and currently on page 104. I'll definitely read every page but I was hoping to get advice on IT certifications so I can start immediately. I would really appreciate any advice I can get, especially as I know no one in Canada. Thank you. |

TheCongo2: Good-day, I sent you a message a few hours back. Please, Kindly respond. I'll also be typing my concerns here and will greatly appreciate your input...especially as it seems you're an IT professional and based in London, Ontario. |

Canadatlast: Someone gave an estimate several pages back. Read again. Asides knowing that ACCA is a faster route, I don't know much else as I personally do not need it to boost my crs score. I'm only rooting for those of you who may need it. |

Canadatlast: You might want to ditch the NOUN PGD plan. A more reliable, flexible and faster route has been established - ACCA F1-F3 courses which gives you a diploma in Accounting and it is positively assessed by WES. Read several pages back to find all the info you need to make an informed decision. 1 Like 1 Share |

yeyerolling: You sound quite insensitive. He/she clearly explained their situation and the basis of the fear. Incase you do not know, losing an OINP is mentally torturous and it's enough to instill such fear and caution in anyone. I declined two ITAs and I never liked the feeling, so I can imagine what he/she might have felt loosing an OINP. The process is draining enough already. Be kind or simply ignore. 9 Likes |

softseun: The most popular route seems to be via ACCA. People have mentioned that completing the foundation courses leads to a certification which is recognised by the evaluating bodies. You can search the thread to get more info about it. |

Tojued: I do know how to do a search and I have done that. Reason why I made reference to what people said about NOUN and NTI PGDE. What I am asking for is if anyone knows how soon NTI PGDE result is available for use after completion of the programme. I have already filled the form and I'm bring prompted to make payment but I was hoping to get info on the above to enable us make an informed decision. While I appreciate you taking out time to respond, you do come across as dismissive. Anyways, thanks for reiterating the ACCA bit...I found that helpful. |

HELP PLEASE!!! A dear friend desperately needs a PGD (in any course at all) to upgrade her points for Express Entry. From the comments here, it seems NOUN is closed for the year and although the form is still up on their website, nothing happens when I click 'Apply'. Someone here mentioned PGDE from National Teachers Institute. It seems theirs is still on. Please does anyone know how soon one can get the result once one is done with the programme? It's a race against loosing points via age. I got my PGD result from UNIBEN years after I finished my programme...I don't want that to be her lot. Please any recommendations of schools with quick results will be highly appreciated. Make una help us abeg. |

Newbeecey: Whatever you do, please avoid Lagos unless the person is ABSOLUTELY certain you can get it urgently. I really advice you flee from Lagos passport offices at this time. Did mine mid last month and I paid for express. It was only two days ago my contact called to say it was ready. Even as at the official collection date given to me, the passport was not ready because no booklet. |

How does it compare to Nigerian universities workload? Are their certificates recognized and how long do you study a module before sitting for the exam? Thank you. 1 Like |

However, he's not certain what the outcome will be so he's trying to weigh his options. Make una help abeg. Thanks. |

Hello house, Please does anyone know the process involved in getting the bank reference letter stating account closing (as per IRCC standard) from GTBANK? I was told to get in touch with my account officer because they don't usually issue such. Thanks. |

Hello all, I did my Postgraduate Diploma part-time (Friday noons and Saturdays) while working full-time. Can I get points using this work experience or it's not acceptable by CIC? If yes, what documents do I need to convice CIC my programme was indeed part-time? My ECA from WES doesn't mention full-time or part-time. Thanks. |

MrsBee: By post and they usually address it to the registrar. I strongly advice you contact someone to go to the school on your behalf. Sometimes they need you to give them some money before they take any action. It takes about 2 to 4 weeks to arrive at your school. |

abimbolaariyo: Going by the comments on this thread, IQAS is the best. IQAS is different from ICAS...note the difference. I used WES but they can delay for Africa. However if your degree is related to medical sciences, there's a different evaluating body for that. Before you can make payment to British Council online, you first need to register on their website. After registration, details on how to pay will be inboxed to you. Remember to scan your international passport data page as you will need upload it when registering. |

KweenCee: Yes! I guess it's new. However, I did my registration few days ago and I went with the online payment option. After filling the form on the British Council website, an email will be sent to you saying your seat has been reserved for the date you chose but you have 5 days to pay else the reservation will be cancelled. The mail will also include information on how to make payment (online and offline method). I just did an online transfer from my GTBank account to the British Council account. Please note that you will need to upload your international passport data page when filling the form. So you should have it scanned and saved. 3 Likes |
