Pls, we need good economist in the house to advice us. Workers in UBTH Benin have been informed that they are to start paying a new tax rate (that is almost 400% of the previous) from this month of August to the Edo state govt. But info from other centres esp the federal parastatals, shows they are not even aware of this new policy of the state government. Of note is that staffs of UBTH have been paying higher taxes than those of other federal parastatals in the state including the 2 other federal hospitals ie ISTH Irrua and psychiatry hospital Benin. The question we are asking is, if this new law indeed is a law, why is it been applied to UBTH alone?
