The notorious NL Garri Gang are at it again. . .they are always roving from thread to thread venting their frustrations about the skyrocketing price(s) of garri. Maybe they would have been happier to read that Rick Ross went to the Obalende market to buy bags of garri to take with him back to the US.

You should even be happy the guy visited your country, with all the bombs going off everywhere..

The same Rick Ross you're trying to malign actually tweeted about how rich Nigeria is with the oil wealth, and big up to him for showing that the oil wealth is in the pockets of the greedy miniscule few elites..

+100

Now you get it. He samples some of the local delights and exports it, thereby putting Nigeria, the capital of garri production, on the map. That'd be so cool.

It started like this
all4naija: There will always be a goofy head like yours in a bad society. If you hate it so much, then go to US as a star and do the same, dude.
Re: Rick Ross In Obalende Market by NovusHomo(m): 11:51pm On Aug 20, 2012

all4naija: And, so what? Are you a star?

And ended like this:
You're one sensitive mangina, and probably one of the silly fvckers whose parents robbed the country of all its wealth..

What's wrong with the tweet?

He shot a similar video in the slums of new orleans..

Who gave you the internet by the way?

No, my parents never robbed Nigeria. I happen to be one of those who saw the handwriting on the wall and voluntarily left. That was in 1985. I have spent enough time out here to know much more about the likes of Rick Ross than you could find out. Just wait until he drops his next recording. He'll talk about his trip to Nigeria. By the way, I have made a good life for myself, all legit. Be careful whose toes you step on, my man.

What more can I say?

Ikr, and he will talk about how the trip changed his life. And how just watching those impoverished, uncared for children faces inspired him to be a better person. Thats why i am saying just because he went to a market doesn't make him an humanitarian.

Na education? no upright judiciary? na good health system? what of transportation,ie plane, road, etc,na where we get level if not corruption. Those places u mention have conscience,we dont have and the place u see in 9ja and call it level is controlled by less than 1% of the population,by this i mean places like maitama, leekky, etc. The world know we have no level that is why even Ghana dey chase 9ja biz men out of ghana.shame on Nigeria leaders not the masses.

I feel u bro! I disagree with all those castigating you for your comment. yes a lot of Nigerians live in abject poverty but not all Nigerians are like that. a good number of Nigerians are much more civilised, educated and exposed than the picture been depicted by Rick Ross. Him taking pictures of Nigerian slums and showing it to the world gives the wrong impression of the generality of the way Nigeria is. Personally I am a Nigerian but I did not grow up wearing PANT!!! up and down the whole place like that kid in the picture. These are the kind of things that make westerners so irritatingly and annoyingly myopic about Africa. I once witnessed a seminar presentation of two white girls who had just recently returned from Uganda and were suprised that the hotel they stayed in looked western. In their words "the toilets flushed" though am not Ugandan I found that very offensive. I had to verbally express my shock which caused a glitch in their talk. The sudden discomfort of everyone around me after realising the stupidity of the presenters as a result of my calculated outburst warmed my heart a little. My point is even though as a nation our leaders have failed us individually we should protect our heritage and national pride. Because when we go to other so called developed countries we are viewed in whatever way they see us in the media on an individual basis as a result of their narrow mindedness, shortedness and lack of exposure. If cocacola which i personally did not have anything against advert could be viewed as an insult then I dont know how to qualify this. Rickross actions should be condemned. My opinion.
