Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon has advised Nigerians, especially Christians not to be carried away by their worries about the spate of insecurity in the country, but to instead intensify prayers for peace. Speaking with newsmen on Sunday shortly after a prayer session for Governor Kayode Fayemi and the state, Gowon said prayers, complemented by action would address the problem. He lauded the efforts of the Ekiti governor in developing the state, saying Fayemi is indeed an agent of change, who should be supported to do more.

Expressing satisfaction with what he described as the massive infrastructure development in the state, particularly the roads and urban renewal projects.

“I read about the developments in the health and education sectors, and I have seen quite a number of roads at various levels of completion in different parts of Ekiti. I have also seen quite a number of buildings that came up since my last visit here. I am certain there has been a lot of development and progress in the state under Governor Fayemi’s administration. I must congratulate the people of Ekiti for giving him the needed support”, he said.

Earlier, Governor Fayemi said Nigerians must not relent in their prayers, expressing optimism that Nigeria would rise again.

While describing General Gowon as a compassionate and honest leader, the governor commended him for his commitment to the Nigerian project.

in as much as i am not disputing the enormous power that effectual and fervent prayer carries but i am forced to ask 3 questions
1. What do we need to pray about
2. why do we need to pray when Boko haram a muslim terrorist group is responsible for this insecurity
3. why was prayer not used by Gowon and Awolowo his vice to settle the 1967 -1970 civil war which involved christian igbos against the whole country and in which more christian souls where lost , where hunger was used as a weapon of war ,the war was so wicked that it made the former Apple chairman Steve Jobs to denounce christianity.

Why are Nigerian Christian Playing double standards with their Faith is God a partial God or the the blood of Boko Haram more important than the Blood of Biafra

Well said. When salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned?
It is only to be thrown out and sampled underfoot.
Gowon has many mental blocks in his thinking process, perhaps
More of his Plateau kinsmen need to be wiped out, this will kickstart his brain into action

GEJ said we need prayers, The governor of Plateau said we need prayers, and now here is Gowon saying the same thing. But unfortunately the concern Prayer warriors Christians Church puppets don't even believe in their prayers, their tongue is so tied and short to make such prayers to God. They already know their prayers won't get to their rooftop not to talk of atmosphere or Heaven, since they fornicate, loot and steal day and night.

This mass killing isn't a new thing, it happened in the days of old, to the Israelites-the people of God whenever they turn their back from God.

We all are waiting for the day GEJ would pick up ammunitions, armour tanks etc to crush these people. . But nobody ever ask their numbers. How many terrorists do you think our government can kill?

All we need is Wisdom of God to fight terrorism and Prayers to counter them

1. "Pray without season"- as in pray about everything. Pray about whatever affects you. If you think your prayers cannot save you from getting killed, then it cannot.

2. We need to pray because they are enemies of God. We should pray for their repentance or their destruction. And also, you need to always pray for yourself, and for your salvation. That a christian was killed by a terrorist group doesn't mean you'll make heaven. If you are not right with God at the point of death, then it means you only died for nothing.

3. So what do you expect? Are the people fighting not christians? They ought to be praying!
