Governor Peter Obi has promised to rebuild the make-shift mosque at Onitsha demolished to expand the Head bridge-Upper Iweka Road, Onitsha.
Obi said it will be re-build at the site the government had provided to them for their business.
“We have the picture. When the time comes we shall rebuild it, considering the specifications of the one we brought down for obstructing the expansion of road at Upper Iweka,” Obi said.
Governor Obi said Anambra is secured for everybody to live in and carry out his or her legitimate activities, including freedom to practice ones religion, provided, he said, it came within the laws of the land.
He said this yesterday when he received Anambra State Muslim Council, led by its chairman, Alhaji Adudulraham Suberu III, at the Government Lodge on a Sallah visit.
Obi who thanked them for celebrating with him, assured them that his government would continue to work for the good of all in the spirit of Anambra State Integrated Development Strategy (ANIDS).
He explained the demolition going on in some parts of the was aimed at making the state more beautiful and cleaner for the people.
In his speech, the Chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Suberu said they were at the lodge to congratulate the Governor on his recent 51st birthday, his appointment into many Federal Committees and to felicitate with him on 2012 Sallah celebration.
The Chairman, who condemned the incessant bombings and kidnapping in parts of the country, called on all religions to embrace global peace. He also commended the governor for his efforts to develop Anambra State as has never done before and assured him of their continued support and prayers.
“Today is Anambra’s glorious era. In the past, it was a pariah state as successive governors before Obi treated it like a leper, but today, the governor’s civility and developmental consciousness has changed all that. Anambra has become a state everybody wants to identify with,” he concluded.

the worth of that scrumb is #35,000 while the cheapest igbo owned property along there is #5,000,000(five million).

so wat will obi build for them? the wood, the zink or the nails? hahaha. let them go and gather those zinks,woods and nails.

Obi knows what will be the out come of that, so he wont try.

the highest structure owned by hausa/fulanis in the east is onitsha main market mosques which amounts about #100,000(one hundred thousand naira)
