I believe in Nigeria.
But we can only be the next 'Econogaint' when we stop using USD as the only currency for our international trade.
When foreign aids/loans are interest free and well monitored to deliver its intended values.
When we stop excessive import and start our local production like the Nigerian Army is trying to do.
When regular power supply is enough to drive the wheel of industrialization.
When the western world and Asia sees Nigeria as a production site and not a marketing site for their products.
When Standard Organistion of Nigeria,NAFDAC, and other regulatory agencies tell importers that its not business as usual and stop importation of fake and substandard goods.
When Civil servants, politicians, accountants,ICPC,EFCC and other anti-graft agencies standup agianst corruption and money laundry.
When the gap between the rich and poor is not wide to promote unethical class struggle.
When we stop being wicked to each other in the name of ethnic, religion, personal ideology and free will.
When average Nigeria believes in the dream of making Nigeria great.

But wait o, where is the U.S vision 2015 about Nigeria's disintegration? Something is definitly wrong!

yes i believe Nigeria has all it takes to beat south Korea , But we need to utilize it properly by scrapping out corruption to 60-70% then we can move forward. Nigeria is a high risk investment country where investment is at high risk and returns is in folds on dollars . White men keep migrating into it day in day out . The problems we have as Nigerians is the government has not provided the platform for us to be like china or South Korea ....Just simple venture capital

Do we need the US to help us arrange our country, after all when decisions of Subsidy removals and its announcement on the 1st of January,PHCN rate increment, printing of #5000 notes were reached did the US partook in it. Our government and those in power know what to do,Obama talks will not change anything.
They are just been wicked

Nah. We are looking east. That's where the future is. Any attempt to look back and Nigeria'll turn to a pillar of salt.

I mean the sector that has contributed immensely to economic growth in the last decade is telecomms. Tell me which of the providers is of American or western origin. MTN - S/A, AIRTEL - India, Etisalat - M/E, GLO - Naija. The ITT's and Siemens only ruined this country with their local collaborators.

If Obama is serious he should speak to Exxon Mobile, Chevron and other corporate buccaneers to stop exploiting and start investing. That is what others do.

We should all be wary of what these foreign heads of state and/or diplomats say about Nigeria.

They talk about us only when it suits them and what suits them when they talk about us.

Obama is no different, he's obviously patronizing us because he has an ulterior motive..... I'm CERTAIN it's not the HUMANITY in him.

We've known Nigeria is blessed and has the potential to be great. Unfortunately, we lack leaders with a vision or moral mission.

Spare us the tory and foreign aid cos we know we must give something back......somehow, sometime.

We don't need obama to tell us we have God gift natural resources that we were not making potential use . unless our leaders see beyond their nose and stop siphoning our wealth away to Europe.

Rich4god: Nigeria is blessed, just that we the citizens have the eyes to see the bad side of the country than the good side. Am still baffled how some of our youth can raise more than 500k and take the risk to apply for visa, but if there is a menial business opportunity in their locality that require a capital of less than 100k, they will claim that they dont have money and are not willing to take the risk.
minimum wage in nigeria is #18,000,while usa minimum wage is #192,000,UK is #283,333 per month.so y ar our people wl nt ran away?

These guys want total world domination, hence they exploit d loopholes of diff countries in d name of assistance. See iraq, see libya. Obviously, both can't attain d height de reached before d great fall of their tyrants. Tyranny was d loopholes in these countries.
In our Nigeria, loopholes include our disunity, corruption, d knockout boys, to mention a few! For all i know, they could indirectly be giving aids to d knockouts play group right now. Yes They can help us attain d desired height but they'll make sure de are d spinal cord of our economy. Wit dat in place, u might want ask: will it truly be our economy....?

The country is already dancing to the tune of Obama which was/is why they installed a brain-dead mo'r'on to rule.I see the as a change of American foreign policy that will only make them richer while this periphery sh'i'thole will continue to be poor.

If indeed we truly wan't to progress we should ignore such hypocritical calls from people who traditionally are scared of an african rise. We should rather look inwards, within Africa and Eastwards to forge our development. They know that shortly our eyes will be opened and we will sort ourselves out and with us the rest of africa so they want to latch on for a final stand.

Well, Obama was tagged "Audacity of Hope" when he emerged the United State President... and at least lived up to expection as a democrat. Obama campaign against romney is gaining groung coz of his attention to the grass root... This guy currently appears to be a "a mass figure" so to speak, reason, we don't know. Whatever you intend tagging his statement; imperialism, colonization or whatever, haven't we been imperialised, colonized and sufferized by our leaders? There's nothing new in what Obama has said, all my waiting for is ACTION...Let's see it happen, if it take OBAMA to make Nigeria great again.. Oya now
