Though Pa Awolowo is a house hold name In the western part of Nigeria, TINUBU needs no introduction either. These two giants in recent times have been at opposite ends, a situation that has threatened the unity of Afenifere. It would be recalled that recently, the Nation was shocked by a publication in The Nation Newspaper, a national daily owned by TINUBU, disparaging Awo's family for allegedly not attending inauguration ceremonies of Osun and Oyo state Govs. The editor of The Nation, Sam Omatseye, who also doubles as Tinubu's media manager had written an article titled "Awo family without Awo", where he condemned the passivity and non active participation of the family in ACN politics. The paper generated a lot of controversy , as analyst saw it as a ploy by ACN to immortalize TINUBU, make him appear more than Awo, and consequently place him as the true leader of the Western region.
Shockingly, TINUBU in a bid to clear the air on the issue, ended up worsening the matter. In a letter to Awo's wife- Mama Awo, TINUBU claimed that the editor was entitled to his opinion and that the write up didn't emanate from him. He further claimed that TRIBUNE NEWSPAPER, which is affiliated to the Awos, had on several occasion deamonised him in the past and he didn't complain. Hmmmmmmmmm
So is TINUBU equating himself with AWOS? Can he ever match Awo's record? Is it best for him to claim that that becos Tribune had deamonised him, it is justifiable to sponsor a paper that questions the integrity of the Awos, a family that is revered among the Yorubas? With Tinubu's egocentric and self centered character(especially the removal of vocal and vibrant Sen. Smart and replacing him with His wife, recent LAUTECH appointment as Chancellor, handling of all juicier contracts in Lagos state, reported extortion of all ACN governed states in the name of contributing to party purse and so on) can he ever be at Awo's record?

We all know Tinubu as someone that wants to take every glory even when he has done nothing,I could still remember when he was fighting Fashola for no just cause...na him nature be that oh...even in his wildest imagination he can never be like Baba Awo who gave his all for the then western region.Tinubu is busy playing with some people's intelligence even to the extend of installing his wife as a senator,what a selfish msn and you want to compare him with Baba Awo,God forbid...

Awo placed regional interest first before his personal needs, he empowered people by making education free at all levels, he incorporated all an sundry in the administration of the West, he was a philanthropist, didnt fight for position or contracts to enrich himself, had no corruption charges leveled against him, was busy grooming people, he was simply the best president Nigeria never produced. Hmmmmmm, TINUBU is a complete opposite.

why not do yourself a favour, Fashola is still offering transport fare for pple who want to leave Lagos because for all i care Lagosians are not complaining. if Jega is not lieing or the International community; she won an election that is free and fair; she was not imposed on the people like madam first lady Permanent Secretary. she is a Nigerian just like your mother and so you know now that your mum is free to contest even if her husband, you father is not Tinubu.

Tinubu did not commission Sam Omatseye to write the article. its not a press statement from Tinubu's Media aide its an op-ed - its the writer point of view and thats the beauty of Journalism. sam Omatseye is the culprit here not Tinubu.

We are interested in how to move Yorubaland forward and benefit collective interest of Yorubas. Personal disagreements between individuals in political setting is normal, it is called competition. If it leads to a benefit for the collective then we want to discuss it, if the story does not better the situation of the collective then its a waste and we ought not to feed the distraction such as this thread is generating.

Just read that Buhari is scared to do business with TINUBU cos he can't be trusted. Buhari drew his statement from Tinubu's abandonment of Ribadu in the 2011 election. He frustrated Ribbadu out of presidential seat, and today he thinks people can trust him. CPC see him as a potential betrayal. Well, he doesn't match Awos credential and must not be brought closer to where a good man is mentioned.

Few weeks ago we heared that Oyo state Gov sponsored wives of all State House of Assembly members, commissioners, chairmen, his wives and those of the deputy Gov to London to learn how to support their husband. IMAGINE, GOING TO LONDON TO LEARN HOW TO SUPPORT THEIR HUSBAND? Are these people ok? They did this under the supervision of Asiwaju. Well, what do you expect! They THESAME people, on the same page.

My response is this: Considering all facts as presently on ground, If Pa Awolowo were to go to bed with any political party in Nigeria today, he will most likely be in bed with ACN and definitely not PDP.

BTW...We should learn to seperate Sam Omatseye's opinion from that that of Asiwaju...he doesn't speak for him....if you equate any of Sam's opinion as that of Asiwaju, then you are not been fair to the two men.

Without any shade of doubt and by the grace of Almighty God...Jargaban Borgu is the head of the largest political bloc in the Western part of Nigeria today just like Pa Awolowo in his days.

If Awo is alive today, he will be so proud of Tinubu at least for rescuing the SW from the jaw of the Satanic party thereby continuing from where he (Awo) stopped. Imagine if the SW is still been ruled by the likes of Alao Akala, Gbenga Daniels, Oyinlola etc.
