Christians have always discriminate against each other throughout their 2000 year history. The first european genocide was caused by such discrimination. Is anyone here familiar with the Albigensian Crusade?Claimed over a hundred thousand innocent christian lives. What about the 30 year war between catholics and the protestant in Germany, that claimed millions? I do not support it,though, but it will always happen.Human traits that religion fails to remove. |

We all agree as to two things: discrimination is widespread and it's counter productive. You find it in political circles, cultural and social relations, and religious concerns. However, many people who complain against this social bane unfortunately are unable to refrain from exhibiting a discriminatory attitude towards others. Judging other denominations is not the business of anybody as far as God and the Bible are concerned. We may question and refute certain unbiblical or extra-biblical principles and practices in some denominations, as surely as the Bible tells us to "have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them" (Eph. 5:11). Yet we are to foster a spirit of love towards people and seek their spiritual welfare. It is human nature to gloat at the mistakes and "sins" of other people while excusing, defending and apologising for their own. A servant of God spends church funds lavishly; another pronounces a "prophecy" which hardly seems so in public perception; a third beats his wife and marries a "sweeter sixteen". . . and many will hardly resist the temptation to slant and ridicule them, so long as it is "their church", and not "my church". Please people, the time has come for each one of us to re-examine ourselves before we stretch out our hands and fingers at others. We surely cannot keep silent in the face of open fraud and pretences in Christendom - especially as it pertains to the glory of Christ's name. However, judging and discriminating between church denominations with a censorious spirit in our hearts is something which will continue to be counter productive in our society. And if you're not a Christian and just seeking every opportunity to castigate the Christian faith, you'll find more than enough excuses to do so because charlatans are never in short supply with their games. At the end of the day, we shall all stand before the Great Judge to give account of our own works and words - including the prejudiced accusations of our tongues! May God help each heart to seek to be more godly in an evil age. Regards. |

most of us christians, commit a lot of sin by "fighting for God" which he himself has not sent us to do for him. Judge not so that thou shall not be judged. |

People like Hotstepper should come to this thread & learn. She keeps dissing Christ Embassy as though God gave her a divine mandate to put that ministry down. Remember the parable of the Kingdom of God being like a man that cast his net into the waters. The net came up with all manners of fish. The man now sat down to select the good ones and throw away the bad ones. But some people would prefer to do the selection for God. It's so,so sad. |

Well, it all depends on what we mean by 'judging' other denominations. The Bible discourages the practice of castigating or vilifying people for their beliefs; but also asks us to be discerning about a lot of things happening in some quarters. In the latter, I believe God wants us to "judge" between what's right and what's wrong. Perhaps, the reason why some people feel uncomfy with the 'judging' exercise is because they find themselves in systems that do not measure up to the standard of God's Word - I've been in some of them before. Others will quickly cover up for their own by quoting texts like Psa. 105:15 - "Touch not mine anointed and do my prophet no harm." The wisest thing to do is to consider that God's anointing is not given for excuses that fall short of His truth. Jealousy is another reason why some people will castigate and vilify others even when they know nothing about them. To judge on hearsays is counter-productive and will not make one the wiser or the better. On the whole, the Bible asks us to judge/examine ourselves and be slow to judge others. The benefits of self-examination far outweigh those of misjudging others - examples include the adminition to remove the log in our own eyes first in order to see more clearly to remove those of others; and then also to prove our own selves as to the genuineness of our commitment to Christ (2 Cor. 13:5). I particularly find much help in Rom. 14:13 - "Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way." |

They should not since they all claim to worship the same Christ. But then again they're all business institutions competing against each other for more business like Pepsi and Coca Cola. |

Most of the bible scholar or the knowledgable uses God's word attacking others by quoting the bible here and there to suit their personal interest. On NL for example there are threads that have been locked due to personal judgment they did against others, |

What is the meaning Judge not that you may not be judged? Are we not all waiting for the judgment of God to conclude this system of things. So how can you say we would not be judged? Isn't all Christian supposed to aspire for the Justification of God by believing and living a Christina Life? And how does pointing out un-biblical practices by any Christian group amount to judgment? It should correctly be called an opinion not judgment. |
