National Publicity Secretary of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has berated those making issues over Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s invitation to the just concluded Democratic Party National Convention, DNC, in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America, describing their action as an ego massaging.

The media was awash with criticisms targeted at Tinubu over alleged comments that President Barack Obama personally invited him to the convention as Obama’s tacit endorsement of Tinubu as his preferred choice of leadership for Nigeria.

According to them, the former Lagos State governor paid 5000 US dollars for the generic invitation.

Reacting to the allegations, yesterday, Mohammed accused those bearing the allegation as being indolent, especially as Tinubu never said that Obama invited him.

His said: “This indolence on the part of those making the allegation; anybody, who is conversant with the Democratic Party National Convention, DNC, and US politics, will know that you will never be invited to the convention unless you fall into any of these three categories: you a candidate, a delegate or supporter of the party.

“If you are a supporter and you are being invited, you will be addressed with your first name as if the President (Obama) invited you.

“Asiwaju (Tinubu) never said he had personal invitation from President Barack Obama. Why the brouhaha about who invited him? The question is was he there or not? He was invited because of his support for the Democratic Party, and he never said he was personally invited by Obama.”

Didn't they claim that he was given a gold card invitation by Obama in his capacity as the leader of the opposition party in Nigeria? undecided

Hahahaha... Tinubu received the same invitation that "Musiwa" got but due to the fact that he is too old to understand the internet and emails, he mistook it as a special invitation from Obama, he later called the whole ACN governors and told them to raise fund for the special trip to USA. Tinubu fall our hand well well. Come to think of it, what of Obama's opposition party, does it mean that Tinubu only supports Obama? If that is the real case then I do not believe that Tinubu can actually represent our interest out there, since he has already chosen to move with ONLY the winning party, that's Obama's party ;(

Hereunder is the initial Gold invite story from Tinubu's media adviser in his newspaper- The Nation

Tinubu for US Democratic Party convention

National leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is to attend the three-day National Convention of the United States Democratic Party that kicks off today in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Tinubu, who was invited to the convention by the party in recognition of his political activities as leader of opposition in Nigeria, will be at the ring side to watch the nomination of President Barrack Obama as the party’s presidential candidate for the November election.

The Republican Party at the weekend confirmed the nomination of Mitt Romney as its candidate.

A statement by Special Adviser on Media to the former Lagos state governor, Mr Sunday Dare, reads: “Tinubu receives a gold card invitation which is prime and with this, he will be joined by three other eminent personalities - Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state, Speaker Lagos state House of Assembly Adeyemi Ikuforiji and former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos state, Mr Dele Alake.

“On Thursday, at Bank of America stadium, President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will deliver their nomination acceptance speeches.

Four years ago when President Obama was inaugurated, Tinubu also enjoyed a ring side seat at the event in Washington.

Tinubu’s invitation to attend the convention comes after a successful one week lecture tour, town hall meeting and book launch in Washington and Chicago.

He delivered a lecture at the prestigious Wilson Center for International scholars on the challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic experiment and offered solutions to problems of under development facing the country.

Similarly at a town hall meeting in Chicago with Governors Rauf Aregbesola and Abiola Ajimobi on hand, Tinubu spoke extensively on Nigeria’s search for true federalism and highlighted the fault lines in the country’s practice of federalism.

At the convention, Tinubu is expected to discuss how to entrench true federalism in Nigeria in his private discussions with the leading figures of the Obama administration and seek the US support for Nigeria to hold a free and fair election in 2015.

Tell that to the dullards who were making waves about it, that Tinubu is a revered personnel to be invited. Barbarians will always find some illusory-insignificant honours to confere on their pompous and bloated and spineless leaders. Loud-mouthed lazy, easy-life seeking monkeys.

Is the bold part not a way of Lie Muhammed confirming what online media outlets have reported that Tinubu bought the invitation with a $5,000 donation

ACN just like PDP are bloody liars and deceit.

They come out to lie to the populace and when they are caught, the come up with a different line debunking the lies that they told.

Tinubu just like Jonathan are bloodily corrupt, deceitful and callous. The only difference between them is their difference in political party and ethnicity.
