South Korea To Deploy CCTV In Nigeria. by Fatdon(m): 2:33pm On Sep 12, 2012
South Korea has offered to deploy Close Circuit Television (CCTV) in Nigeria as part of measures to tackle the security challenges facing Nigeria.

Mr Jung Sang-Hoon, the Resident Representative of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), announced the offer when he briefed newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.

The CCTV is a security camera which records events as they occur and can be played back.

Jung said that Korea, through KOICA, had ear-marked the CCTV project, among others, to promote security in Nigeria, adding that deployment of the facility would not duplicate existing ones.

Jung, who said that Nigeria and Korea were strategic partners in development, listed other areas of cooperation as education, rural development and e-government training.

He said that KOICA, which had donated two primary and secondary schools each to Adamawa and Gombe States, was expanding its education project to other parts of the country.

According to him, more than 100 Nigerians have benefited from various capacity programmes since the establishment of KOICA in 1999.

He said that the success story of Korea was the result of good leadership and not miracle, adding that “while Nigeria is blessed with natural resources, Korea’s strength is in expertise’’. (NAN)
