This is what Yoruba guy, Tola Charles said online today:

"To me, the Igbos may have embarked on their own silent revenge war on the rest of us, except that only the Hausa-Fulani have been checkmating them consistently by creating unrests in the North by which a cycle of 'start and settle' is ever revolving to ensure that they do not have that strong foothold. But here in the Southwest, the Igbos have dominated nearly all aspect of our lives.... in my brother Adejuwon's Ijebuland, they are buying landed /land properties and have become lanlords, same in Lagos, in Ibadan, even my own Oyo town the cradle of Yoruba, they are dominating everything. Festac town now 75% owned by Igbos. A travel from Mile 2 to Agbara Industrial estate along Badagry road will keep you thinking whether you are in Onitsha or what. And they are breeding like rats. I think we may have unknowingly been under the siege of the Igbos in Yorubaland."
Re: Achebe On Awo: Interesting Comment Of A Cyber Yoruba by mekuslogan: 6:02pm On Oct 06, 2012
Good to see that Igbos are buying up Nigeria. As you do so, ensure that you make as much profit as you can before the bubble burst because you will end up having to forfeit all those investments at some point. Also, make sure you have a fall back plan in terms of investing something back home.

I have always known that Igbos are by far the richest Nigerians in terms of middle and upper middle classes. Few Yorubas and Hausas are super rich but the rest of them (90%) are impoverished.

Last time I checked, more Yorubas have been deported by Fashola than Igbos.

@topic, what's stopping yorubas from buying up properties outside their region? Are they scared of one Nigeria their forebears fought for?

They will always beat their chest and open their loud mouths thesame way their leaders did. Ojukwu claimed to be having the largest infantry in Africa prior to civil war and when it was time to display his acclaimed bravery, he cross dress, puts on his " Aso Oke" like aba market woman and bolted to Abidjan in the middle of war like the coward he was , after leading more than 2 million ibos to death.

Gaddafi and Saddam died side by side with their people, while the overly fed Ojukwu ran to Abidjan and even shamelessly took a new wife. These brainless ediots can't still understand that their leader played " ibo sense" on them.

He was well fed like a swine, the glutton grabs every food coming as aid leaving poor children to die helplessly . what sort of leader will abandoned war fronts and relocates to a safer environment, leaving his people at the mercy of snipers? Like their leader and that old senile crippled fool, most of the ediots writing rubbish here are doing so from a safe heaven outside the country. when the time to commit and show their worth comes, they will shout genocide.

Look at how all the bytche assrrs ediots shouting Awolowo all over the place , I thought you said, the Yorubas don't possess superior intellects? How comes these ediots are crying all over the place claiming a mere civilian(Awo) defeated " the largest infantry" in Africa?

Thesame way they boasted about possessing " large cache of guns" capable of protecting their investments in Kano before elections , only for the 3 million parasites to start sending SOS from Kano after a single attack from boko haram. Pathetic!

Your fathers died with Yoruba on his mind and the obsession is still very much alive with you, so when are you going to pay attention to all the problems that plague you in SE. We are your masters, i don't really blame you. Bashing Yoruba is the only thing that makes you feel that you are alive as your ibo tribe is dead and buried.

Awolowo is a much maligned man. Read about the civil war in his own words here

http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/newsflash/exclusive-chief-obafemi-awolowo-on-biafra-in-his-own-words.html

SUMMARY
Awolowo ensured that houses of the Igbos in lagos and other realestate were not collected from them. In one case, rent was even collected on behalf of the owners and handed over when the war ended.

Awolowo gave the ACB(main bank for Igbo traders in the 70s) got 3.5million pounds to restart so that Igbo traders could have access to funds.

Awolowo saved all funds that accrued to the South Eastern states during the course of the war and ensured that the cash was handed over to them once the war ended. This subvention was at the rate of 990000pounds per month calculated for every month of the war.

He also funded the Cooperative Bank of Eastern Nigeria as a way to help rehabilitate the eastern states.

He also ensured that Igbos with proven accounts got their money back from the different banks. The only losers were the ones who had withdrawn their money and converted them to biafran notes. their cash was essentially worthless.

Now for once forget who say this or who say that, people like u are just pure joke and unfortunately there are many like u out there

imagine boko b astard telling us they want peace

now when people talk of peace, what do they really want

the only peace here is the truth, who doesnt want peace

who isnt fed up of lack of power in the country, bad roads everywhere, the igbos, the yaribas, the hausa?

then we must embrace the truth, the truth will always set us free but shall we?

In a country the yaribas and the useless hausa has over the years sub-press every ingenuity that can only push the country one step out of this mess we are facing just cuz of hate of NDI IGBO

now who lose, we all lose ?

If the country is sincere they should uplift every advancement no matter which part of the country it comes from and u can imagine how far we will be by now; then this ugly heads would not be stealing more of the show as it is now.

Imagine people that went from only £20 to run riot all over the place in naija; any surprise with all the comment flying in across the country; such as they sell their mamma for money; kogis will tell hey we dnt sell land to the igbos and that; the yaribas wouldnt think without getting jealous; my friend should u dnt know hard work pays i know some of yall are used to hating the truths; serve u well.

the only peace we have here is the truth which could be demonstrated in many way; an ordinary call for international airliners to use Enugu airport has turn to tribal anger from the other sides

so what are saying? pro corruption the so called logical analyst?

‎"By independence in 1960, Igbo people dominated commerce and the public sector in a land where the three biggest ethnic groups (the Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo) were jostling for supremacy" - Chinua Achebe

AND FORTY YEARS LATER AFTER THE CIVIL WAR, IGBO OWNS 65% OF CHOICE LAND IN ABUJA ACCORDING TO EL-RUFAI, AND 50% OF CHOICE PROPERTIES IN LAGOS, THE SAME COULD BE SAID OF IGBO PROPERTIES IN PORT-HARCOURT.

Igbos do not compete with anybody they just do what comes to them naturally, it the NATURALLY LAZY & ENVIOU Yorubas not even Hausa that wants to compete with the Igbos, and are always jealous of Igbos. Awo was jealous of the Pan-African Status of Zik, and the fact that kings, Presidents, and even the Queen of England respects Zik, but to Zik he was just another Igbo man doing what comes to THEM naturally, which is, "NATION BUILDING."

Hahahah! The Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba politicians have failed in that respect. You should be looking for a new Nigerian order to help you decimate the Igbo.

As for your deportation jibe, even Yorubas were deported from part of Yorubaland. Shame that you guys play the ostrich with the freedom of fellow Yoruba. That is not what I would do.

Personally, within Nigeria, would not touch a property outside Igboland even if given for free. Good for those Igbos doing so, but there is nothing a Yoruba or Hausa can do about it except to hasten the division of the country. Only then can you claim Igbo property.

Sometimes I wonder how a tribe that was marked for 'extermination' about 45 years ago can pick up there pieces and still bounce up to the top in commerce and industries, estates and transportations! Ndigbos have not ceased to amaze me with their business savvy and prowess! In that war, a new spirit was given to the Igbos to go conquer not only the business landscape of Nigeria but of the world, hence, giving birth to the new catchphrase, 'any country you go and u no find Ibo man there, comot'!

fashola cannot deport investors in lagos state or else his tired of one Nigeria and no more oil money coming to state treasury' he mostly deport jobless and beggars and were they mostly came from: not SE, Yoroapes are selling off their lands even inside bush around ajaa village in Ireland and the most stupid thing about your people is that you sell your papa land to igboman next thing you automatically believe you are better than him or her embarassed you run and buy jeeps, more concubines and throw parties any how and u shout omo igbo but as dumb as you are don't you see their is no difference with u people and almajiris in the north? how can you look down on someone that bought your fathers land and change your entire families life's style financially?does it mean that igbo-man cannot afford all these things you bought with the money he or she gave you....wake up days of awolowo is gone.As we speak, yorubas are selling off more lands in lagos to igbo because of poverty in SW, only have lands but no money to develop it, and it comes with C&O buyers are now becoming the landlords small igbo boys have bought the whole place wink wink

The only way you people can have say is if you don't sell off your lands but is not the case any longer if you touch igbo man land FG will release JTF on you people because by law you are not the owner you are now an invader...pls dont see it as an insult think about what i just said...

The different b/w SE and SW even the rest of nigeria is that in igbo-land lands are very expensive most big men and women have bought 60% of SE lands, and he is not financially broke or in any form to sell the land so they keep it or they will start developing it for factories or housing estates even if u want to buy it the only way u can buy it is by double or triple the amount.....
