New state: Yar’Adua backs Ndigbo EMMA OGU, Owerri PRESIDENT Umaru Musa Yar’Adua yesterday said the clamour by Ndigbo for additional state was justifiable, while maintaining that the onus lies with the National Assembly to expedite action on the matter. advertisement Speaking at a parley with Imo State leaders of thought in Owerri, Imo State during his official visit to the state, Yar’Adua assured that the legitimate demand of Ndigbo would be adequately addressed by his administration as soon as the National Assembly concludes its work on state creation. This is as President Yar’Adua at the commissioning of the Okigwe Regional water scheme in Amuro Okigwe lamented the spate of abandonment of projects nationwide. He, assured that with adequate planning and timely execution of projects, the menace would be curbed by his administration which he said would be a responsible one.
