IMHO, i think all sinners are not suppose to pay tithe. be it LovePeddler, robbers, etc. Any money gotten in a wrong way is unacceptable to God as tithe. They might pay it but God wil not accept it

BedLam: Someone closed to me asked me this question on sunday when the pastor was hammering on TITHE. i couldnt give an answer because no one had never brought to my intention. considering that the the job itself is a sin, can he/she pay tithe?

Have you not seen where God rejected offerings? Cain, Saul, etc. Your tithe only works when you are in God's will. Of course paying tithes from ill-gotten money will definitely bring a curse and not a blessing.

It is this "tithe" thing that is driving a lot of criminal-minded individuals to claim "God's calling" and own churches these days. To such category of preachers, the source of the tithe is immaterial.

We all have different understanding of this issue of tithe ma brother. But what I will say here is, you obey and pay according to what your bible says, cos not until your own righteousness has been fulfilled the blessings behind tithe paying can never be yours.

The reason why most people don't pay tithe is simply because they think and belief it's meant for the Pastors(wrong motive).

And as for where the tithes are going to... First of all let me re-paint the picture of what tithe look like;

-A tithe may be in form of physical cash, or any other material things. Tithe isn't limited to Money alone as most of us may think.

Most churches also pay tithes. How? To charity homes. They also use it for church growth & development and the rest of it may be saved to the church account for unforeseen circumstances .

Mind you, God will never come down an ask any Pastor to bring physical cash to offer him praise. Can you imagine the CEO of 'coca-cola' begging for a bottle of Coke? No! In the same vein, God is never in need of anything from us, but we humans will always depend on Him for everything.

My conclusion; The tithes we pay in church are been used for the Glory of God and if any Pastor tampers with it... Only God can judge that. You do your own part. Only then you can be assure of the blessings behind tithe paying.

Tithes

22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26  Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.

28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

Afterall they take tithe from armed robbers, fraudtars, ritualist, corrupt polical office holders so why can't they take from love peddlers?

This is quite straight forward,are you living right before God? If you are love pedler, robber or involved in some shaddy lifestyle, you are not glorifing God hence your offering or tithe is not acceptable. Even the scripture tells us to mend fences with those we have issues with before bringing any gift to the altar. The pastor may not know what you do outside and may accept the offering but before God your offering will bring nothing.
