Eze Promoe: Ogugua, seriously i wonder how you would pronounce these Igbo words. I met an Igbo American who came back for holidays and she saw an inscription on a book written, 'Chukwudi', and pronounced it as 'Chorkwordi' and Nnewi as 'En-New-i' (as in the pronounciation of the english word 'new') grin

I know native Igbo speakers who still pronounce Chukwudi and Chorkwordi. Its sounds better

Re: Igbo learning thread + Translator by Nobody: 5:51pm On Dec 20, 2012
Lol. My pronunciations are not too bad when it comes to singular words or names. Ask me to pronounce an unfamiliar phrase, and there's a chance I may butcher lol. My silly cousins used to hail me for pronouncing and spelling Onitsha correctly. Such a shame. If them sabi Mississippi, make I hail them back? undecided

How is someone's Igbo resembling Ikwere or Agbor horrible? [If you're serious] I don't think you understand the essence of the Igbo language.

Is it "I ke-eke mee ya" or "I ma-uma mee ya"?
