''HOW MUCH''-- QUANTITY. THATS where the confusion comes atimes. it is very correct in this context.
if u use ''how many years'' IT COULD BE CONTESTED COS U FIT SENIOR ME WITH 2 WEEKS!!!.

so its ''BY HOW MUCH''.
Wrong. Much is used for uncountable nouns, many is used for countable. So the correct thing is "how many" whether it is days, weeks or years.
