I am an atheist. But I have realised some things are just futile. I am going to live my life not particularly angry at anyone. I just want to help people, make people happy, and living in a bloody futile war isn't helping.

I know I sound unlike the average atheist, infact unlike the average human being.
But I just want to be humble and sincere. A big ego will never make ur life a fulfilled one at the end of the day, sincerely helping people would.

What kind of holier than thou is this? Who has a big ego? The other average atheists? Who is not sicnerely helping others

I can argue that the sky is orange.

^^^The above statement would imply that I believe that the sky is orange and I can prove it with argument.

Same as your statement;

"I can argue that gravity has a will......."

You are just embarrassing yourself at this point.

What? So in other words you read my post threw your own spin on it and attempted to force your words down my throat. Lol, sometimes I just wonder how you reason (if you reason at all).

"I can argue that....." merely means "I can argue that....." it doesn't automatically mean "I believe that......"

Forcing it to mean what you want just so that you can gloat doesn't in any way change anything.

You really need to learn how to think.

I can argue that you are a fool Anony

I can argue that the sky is orange

I can argue that sharks can fly

And,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I can argue that gravity has a will.......

Anony will marry a woman that will argue that she can argue that her v@gina can fly

Lol, Unfortunately for you, mockery doesn't qualify as a valid argument. I have not reversed anything, I have only asked you not to put words in my mouth.

grin grin grin....the sheep has come to support the master. No evidence, just blind following.

Anyways, look at the OP of this thread and you will see a topic that goes intellectually beyond anything that you have posted on this forum.

You didnt read the article I wrote. Fool

Foolish troll. Did you miss the part where I said that survival is our basic natural instinct? We shape many decisions around our survival. Please, read the damn article and stop asking questions that have been answered.

Did you read what I wrote ? Ode ! I said your article doesn't explain how morality developed in the human brain. Survival doesn't equate to morality so your talk about survival is a non-sequitur.

How is it ignorant ? Until you say how your allegation is baseless.

How morality developed in the human brain? That is a nonsense question. You might as well ask as how other absracts like "numbers" or "socialism" developed in the human brain. They are abstracts they dont "develop" in a physical brain.
Rephrase your question.

My article addresses the use of reason to hone our evolutionary instincts. Read it again

We base many of our decision on our survival. Survival is key to our morality. I have said this 1 million times on this thread.

Kindly feck off. I am not going to address your foolishness to comprehend the OP again

The question is aquivalent tob asking how the brain came to acquire its sense of morality. It isn't a nonsense question. The fact that you know that morality is ana abstract makes it even more germane. Since you say abstracts don't develop in the human brain how come humans are moral.

Logicboy03:

Reason is also an abstract. How come our brains developed the ability to reason ?

You don't just state survival is key to morality. Tell us how. Please don't run away from my questions.

I won't feck off. Your OP amounts to just-so if you can't back it up with solid explanations.

what if the war is considered essential to your survival?

making people happy is not a fulfilling vocation, since sometimes what can make them happy is what will be detrimental to you.

Descriptive ethics: What do people think is right?

that largely depends on the environment which shaped them

Normative (prescriptive) ethics: How should people act?

also driven by environment mostly

Applied ethics: How do we take moral knowledge and put it into practice?

this is where nature comes in. It either conflicts with nuture or adapts to it (still environment).

Meta-ethics: What does 'right' even mean?

million dollar question.

some interpret "right" as meaning whatever a specified person considers "wrong".

i do not think that should be the determining basis for ethics but to each their own.
