Are you sure? Cos its only in the early hours of the morning that I get that kind of speed. During the day, its usually around 450kb/sec which is why I don't do downloads anymore on MTN.

binger: If this is true,then West Africa is really backward. I don't know abt u,but my(and those i knw) internet connectivity walks,it doesn't speed. So,for 9ja to be in the lead,shows there is trouble.

problem with nigeria internet is not speed buh bandwidth deployment... No reasonable bandwith at affordable price. Imagine a situation where u had to buy 2hrs for 250naira and the network provider trothle ur line at 70mb to 100mb (a 5-7 minutes hd youtube video) and ur speed becomes very slow and network didnt make it well known to everybody that ur bandwith will be throttled at certain usage..

Is 450kb/s bad speed? That means u can download a 1Mbyte file in under 3 secs, not bad in my opinion.

I find their rate competitive. Typically, I do the 10Gb monthly plan for 10k - same amount Glo charges.

thats how to calculate speed... If ur modem or speedtest gives u certain amount of speed... Its mostly in mbit/sec so u divide it by 8.. Then thats ur actual speed or that d actual speed u are browsing with... Eg if ur modem show 1mbit/sec then ur actual speed is around 125kb/sec...

Your original post does not indicate if 700Kb/sec is your average download speed, and this one doesn't either.

Btw, 2.55Mb/sec download is much faster than you get on most 3G networks in Europe.

The fastest I've encountered was in Sacramento at 43Mbs. The files were downloading so fast I had to investigate the speed. I've also had a download speed of 31Mbs here in Lagos one quiet night I got out of bed
