Politics

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the federal government to sack the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, saying he was never qualified for the office in the first instance, and has shown more than enough incompetence and contempt for the Nigerian people.
Through its President, Abdulwahed Omar, the NLC was responding to a statement by Mr. Sanusi in which he recommended that the government sack 50% of its workforce in order to revive the economy.
“It has become obvious that there are some individuals parading the corridors of power who are not qualified to be anywhere around organizations saddled with the responsibility of developing policies for national development,” NLC said. “Since assumption of office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, all Sanusi’s major pronouncements have been either directly anti people or ruinous to the Nigerian economy.”
It asserted that the burden of wealth creation in Nigeria, like any other country, has been on workers, while some politicians and economic parasites like Sanusi over consume what the workers sweat to create, and that workers are the key driving force of all economies and only a hollow economist like Sanusi will underplay this.
“The major problems of the Nigerian economy are corruption and lack of good governance, and until we solve these problems our economy will continue in comatose,” the statement continued, pointing out the irony that while President Jonathan is promising to create more jobs, Sanusi is calling for mass sack of civil servants in a country with one of the highest number of unemployed.

Let me guess, they just woke from their slumber now ONLY TO REALIZE that SLS is anti-humanitarian? LOL...Who doesn't know that SLS wasn't qualified for the job? A fellow with a Masters in Islamic Studies, and Bachelor from Uni of Zaria, not even a competent nor prestigious one. In addition to that, he was Risk Manager at which bank again? I guess this made him qualified to lead a complex monetary institution such as the CBN... smh.

Imagine what a so-called economist recommended

Through its President, Abdulwahed Omar, the NLC was responding to a statement by Mr. Sanusi in which he recommended that the government sack 50% of its workforce in order to revive the economy.

I never knew unemployment aided in economic revival?

I thought economy gradually revives when the people are employed, they spend, thus affecting other structures of the economy? Who are the people to create that jobs? Is not dependent on the private sector - small, medium or large business? Where does the private sector turn to for financing? The man needs to learn from his counterparts in other economies, he sure needs it.

Yes o o o o...
He deserves to be sacked. Infact, every members of his household in the public civil service should be sacked so that he feels the pains of his advise to the Federal Govt. Can you imagine.

If this man should calculate the amount of money he spends on food every year, would he advise his wife to stop cooking for the family because the amount of money spent on food is too much?

May God forgive that idiott.

Its no secret that the civil service is over bloated including political appointees .. How can about 2million workers be taking 70 percent of the countrys revenue as payroll... The govt need to make sure the private sector employment becomes more lucrative than Govt employment so a lot of peo ple will move

Even Sanusi has more credibility when compared with the NLC monkeys. Omar and Esele would never realize the damage they did to themselves by reneging on their pact with the people during the fuel subsidy protest.

As for Sanusi, let him stay on cos as it appears, he is now cooperating with Ngozi. His mission is to deal with the onibanjes and akinyomis who strangled the banking sector. By the end of his tenure, we shall see more equity and fairness in the industry. Oh and please Sanusi don't forget to hand over to Soludo when you are done. Aboki very loyal Mallam cool
