Ileke-IdI: While I have never owned a Blackberry, I believe it is more suitable to the Nigerian market because of the lower footprint of its messaging client, both in terms of cost and computational resources. 95% of Nigerian BlackBerry users take advantage of BlackBerry Messenger which is a lot higher than the global average. With a free or low cost instant messaging client on most Nigerian carriers it makes perfect sense that using the service and having a PIN is almost more important than actually having a phone number. Beyond this, you've also got to look at the qwerty keyboard it provides and, I suppose, the higher level of resistance to shocks/knocks which a lot of other smartphones do not necessarily offer. I stand to be corrected of course. |
