I don't know d name of d virus.. Immediately it entered my pc tru an external HDD dat a frnd gave me, it started corrupting files. I tried re-starting it but the virus deleted the start up so it did nt load into windows.... I fear for my files but thanks to a frnd, I got it all back...

Renouce/readme.eml stops your PC from detecting the SIM in your modem when it's plugged in as the SIM indicator will show red meaning indicating there's no SIM Card in the modem.

For me it used to be Ralia Odinga after my experience with it in 2005, until I met the network monsters last month; Nimda.Win32.*@mm (a.k.a. Runouce.exe/readme.eml) and Trojan.Chinky.vb.U. They wrecked havoc across my network, rendered important server applications useless. Traditional antivirus scanning techniques cannot get rid of them completely, you need to go into the bowels of windows to smoke them out.

I copied a banner designed by a friend to print out from my computer. Immediately I coppied the file to my desktop, the files icon on my desktop changed. Porn virus I think was the name. I saved my files on hard disk but forgot my music file. Horrible experience I must say.

Had two experience. 1st was Raila Odinga. Saw it in a my friends flash as a jpg file and i thought it was the pix of the real Odinga. Had to format my system to get rid of it. The othe virus (name forgotten) will just start up my IE and my system will jst stop work. Had to go through safe mode to delete the virus.

Sometime in 2007 I was a support staff in a company with many branches. at same time Bronktov attacked some workstations in a branch, Win32 attack other workstations in another branches...and then came dat mumu Raila Odinga in other branches! Mehn!! It was my first experience with these beasts...issues just full magic helpdesk. I sweat tire!

After scanning using Avira on my Ubunto, I Bleep it into my window, if USB security no catch u, my malware fighter will , then finally my Avira Premium

The damn thing infected all executable files on my system......I had to format, BUT I forgot to delete all former EXE softwares I got. Saved on the system earlier, with a single click to reinstall some of them, it cam back...I had to delete all my softwares except. D ones saved as RAR/ZIP

I've been free fro virus attack ever since, currently celebrating my 2nd year. D funny thing is dat I dnt use antivirus anymore.. No matter what, I don'kt use my system administrator to collect files through flash, I use a limited user account. I also make use of ubuntu once in a while most exoecially when I get a malware.... I just figure out the name and where it is hidden, log in with ma ubuntu and delete.....
I also have loads of OS as bootable flash drives for emergency purpose

Look at Semid4Lyfe crying about Renounce/Readme.eml!
Isn't Renounce one of the weakest and easiest virus files to remove? It can even be done without an AntiVirus by simply booting the computer in Safe Mode, searching and erasing all files with EML format in the volume, opening up regedit and eliminating the insignificant rookie virus.

What about BronTok (the one I suffered) that completely DISABLES your Regedit to even begin with?
Oh, but it doesn't stop there. Brontok (A) Norbet goes on to DISABLE and REMOVE your "Folder Options" function, CLONE every single file folder in your computer with an EXE look-alike (still with a folder icon), automatically opens a webpage that tells you to stop viewing pooorn (along with a dialog box that says, 'Anda Setuju?'), closes and restarts the computer whenever you try opening a DOS file, shuts down the computer if you dare type the keywords "antivirus" and "registry" in your browser search page!!!

Same for Nimda too
Then there was this malware about 3 years back [cant recall the name] which repeatedly prevented my login attempts. Solved it with Malwarebytes.
Best thing though is to give Windows OS's a wide berth seeing they are always phucked when the viruses come calling

Raila Odinga...the name still sends shivers down my spine till today.
Experienced it in 2008, wiped my Final year project draft..I had to retype all over.
It was a real menace then in School. Very hard to remove,I had to reformat my system.

had one many years back that was duplicating folders all over my system. Kaspersky helped me deal and since then i've always stuck with them!

I'm now extra careful and use Kaspersky till the grave. no threats ever since!

am free like a baby that doesn't dream. lol
