Traffic Gridlock As Jonathan Attends RCCG Convention by Timcy01(m): 11:57pm On Dec 14, 2012 |
Hundreds of commuters in Lagos, Friday, groaned for hours in traffic snarl on the Lagos-Ibandan expressway following the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, (RCCG) Congress. Commuters were stranded at different Bus Stops for several hours, as security officers attached to the President closed the roads from the Marina axis to the Lagos- Ibadan expressway. Speaking to Vanguard, Mr. Adewale Adekoya, a motorist, lamented, that ” I closed from work early today but to my surprise, I was told that I cannot make use of the road now because the President I elected into office want to pass. This is appalling.” Adekoya explained “I have been in this traffic for hours and due to this, I am hungry here now because I did not eat at work hoping to get home early and eat.” Vanguard observed that the right side of the road was closed completely to resist the movement of motorist and commuters for the president to have easy passage thereby causing the traffic gridlock on the roads. Some of the roads visited by Vanguard were: Lagos Island through Lagos – Ibadan Expressway to Lateef Jakande Road, Nurudeen Olowopopo, Amara Olu and Ogunnusi roads, among others. Visit to these roads by Vanguard, further revealed that there was long queue of vehicles which ran into adjoining streets and highways. As this traffic snarl increases, commuters who could not bear the stress of waiting at the Bus Stops for vehicle resorted to an endless trekking because the vehicles were trapped in a ‘bumper-to-bumper’ traffic. Mr. Simeon Anthony, a commuter, said “I had no option than to trek because I cannot say when the traffic would subside. And for me, I cannot wait at the Bus Stop for a commercial bus that I do not know when it would arrive.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/12/traffic-gridlock-as-jonathan-attends-rccg-convention/ 2 Likes |

@ Poster Your post would have made perfect sense if not for all this your saying "cheating yoruba" people this, "Yoruba peopla" that. Please stop tribalism. It is the reason we cannot elect the right leader. it is Nigeria's worst disease. 14 Likes |

lanre_front: @ Poster Na wah for Nigerians oh. We have not learnt anything. How did OBJ election help youruba people, or YaArdua help Hausa's? How is GEJ helping Niger delta? Is the money allocated there making any impact on the people? The only people that benefit from tribal politics are the elites from the same tribe as president. they get appointments and greenlight to steal all that they want without prosecution. Any citizen joining them in that fight only gains bragging rights that the president is from his region. You go chop bragging rights? 3 Likes |

Please moderator can you hide this Musiwa comments? He is sounding like a mentally deranged man. I wonder why they allow the internet in their Yaba home, or was he let loose unknowingly? 12 Likes

Is it not better to have a President who will attend Holy Ghost Congress than one who will come up and ban open air evangelism and abuse men of God? Those who think GEJ will not be President come 2015 shpould pls offer a better choice now or keep quiet. As for the Igbos who are criticizing GEJ, go and find out who is Chief of Army Staff, Commandant of NIgerian Defence Academy and Commandant of Nigerian Army Infantary Corps- sensitive posts that no Igbo man would smell if our President is from other parts of the country. I pity those who dont understand anything. 1 Like |

2010! GEJ went to the redemption camp cos he wanted to contest and win the 2011 election. 2012! GEJ is in the redemption camp again. Eureka! GEJ is contesting the 2015 election. That is why he needs working to actualise it naw. I bet he wont kneel down this time but roll on the floor like a tyre cos of the Arewas. musiwa7: dont mind Goodluck.. Anyone who call himself a man of God. should not support Goodluck, because of the way. Goodluck have cheated yoruba people. Get a life! If you know your foolishness is not more GEJ,don't cry for a tribe, cry for Nigerians. SMH! |

ONE THING YOU PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND IS THAT THERE IS NO WAY A PRESIDENT OF A COUNTRY COULD BE THAT WICKED OR BAD THAT HE OR SHE WILL NOT BE RECOGNIZED BY THE SPIRITUAL LEADER OF HIS NATION. AS BAD AS HEROD, PHAROAH, AND KING SAUL IN THE BIBLE THE PROPHET OF GOD STILL DEY HONOUR THEIR INVITATIONS. DADDY ADEBOYE WILL NEVER BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYBODY SIN. HE TOO HAS HIS OWN LIFE ANSWERABLE TO GOD ON THE JUDGEMENT DAY IF GEJ LIKE, LET HIM SERVE GOD. HE LIKES LET HIM OTHERWISE. GOD KNOWS HIS OWN. NOTHING CONCERN DADDY ADEBOYE. 3 Likes

Poster, I like your post but to the point where you brought in the tribal sentiments. This has nothing to do with Yorubas alone ( I am also Yoruba) However it is clear GEJ and especially his aides are a natural disaster to the ENTIRE COUNTRY. - North , south, east or west What he did by closing the major roads at a critical time yesterday of all days is condemnable and I am Ashamed that RCCG would not as much as mention this but continue to allow Stained hands to climb their pulpit and alters. God indeed is bigger than GEJ or Adeboye himself. He denied many true worshipers from going to camp yesterday. sad sad sad God you dey see these people o It is better to have a President who does not believe in God but can provide Security , empower people and not destroy the country than a president who is out to take care of himself and his cronies at the expense of the Nation. 3 Likes |
