The artistic impression of the Uyo stadium looks like something beyond 30,000 capacity. But let them finish it first and see what it will look like after completion.

if that uyo yet to be built stadium is 30,000, then it is waste of money, such a stadium should not be less than 60,000 capacity.

When will naija have a stadia for only football(witout the race track) BTW those stadium are more delapidated than the look in this picture. Abuja stadium was an eye-sore the last time i checked.
Re: Pictures Of Nigeria's Stadiums by olapluto(m): 5:30pm On Dec 19, 2012
Big Business if we have all these stadia. Just make Nigerian premier league marketable. Imagine gate fee of 1,000 naira per person in Liberty Stadium. Thats like 40m every week for a full house. Plus sponsorship money, plus media. Nigeria is a place with many untapped mines.
Cool pix though

Mostly low capacities but very nice stadiums.
Re: Pictures Of Nigeria's Stadiums by manny4life(m): 5:31pm On Dec 19, 2012
These stadiums are not big... I was thinking that since Abuja is the center, it would have 75,00 0 to 100,000 seats or even more. Unfortunately, these stadiums to not qualify to larger sizes but they look clean though. They Uyo stadium looks nice but for 30k? That's a real waste.

Abuja, Warri, and the proposed Uyo stadia/stadiums look tight..

The Abuja stadium should be able to take 100,000 spectators - they just need to add extra seats...

Add extra where? If it wasn't in the proposed design, how will they add, almost 1.5x the size capacity, and adjust every other supporting structure?

They can always take the roof off and add another tier to it... Nou Camp or Santiago Bernabéu did something similar... The stadium also has about 50 corporate suites, which is definitely too much as well...

the new katsina township stadium will accomodate nothing less than 30000 and it is an architectural edifice

Can't say for others but the National Stadium in Lagos is not what the pic depict it to be except for the capacity.

I think Enyimba's stadium is a football - specific arena.
By d way, the posters that want a 60,000 capacity stadium in Uyo should take into consideration, the possibility of such a stadium being filled out. Even the Abuja stadium is barely half-ful during most national team matches, with d exception of the Nigeria/Tunisia WC qualifier 3 yrs ago.

Ok o, me I'm no design expert or structural engineer, so I won't speculate. However, one thing I do know is that unless such provisions where put in place to accommodate those changes, then it's possible. If it wasn't, it's my view that it will pose structural design challenges, nonetheless, let me don't argue on what I have no knowledge of.
