Moshood Abiola Polytechnic: Sap route: a short-cut to town from school usually plied by students that don't have transport fare Konko below: an oblong shaped dessert made from flour and fish Ojere: the host community of the institution (the school is known by that name though) SEREP: Semester Remedial Programme Ojere Igbehin: The latter part of the semester when students are broke and not able to travel home because of exams. This is for Oba Awon Universities (OAU) in the 90s, especially for the Awoite: Coffee room: where judgement is passed for erring student (jungle justice kind of) Baba 70 : an HIV invested panel member of coffe room, he died before graduation. Awo Machines: members of the supporters club of Awo hall football team. Shishi: this could be maxima shishi, feerefe shishi or shishi infinitual depending on the level of. your crime. It is a term given to punishments by way of flogging ot mass beating. Domitila: A sexually wayward lady or half nakedly dressed female student. Antibarber: anyone with an unkept hairstyle. E.g. Late George Iwilade(Africa). BBCC lions of Gboko: a sexually active student. Risky burger: fried egg and bread from Aluta market in Angola hall. Babyless mothers: any female student that stays in Moremi hall Motherless babies: any female student that stays in Mozambique hall (freshers) Scarbite: any member of Tony Fash's political party. Aro: a clown or any funny moves or statement. Animal Kingdom: another appellation for Awo hall. The list is endless. AAU, Ekpoma: CONCUSSION:...... jollof rice hurriedly prepared without the necessary ingredients BUSHE:........A local girl who is a member of the community where the university is located, but not an undergraduate. they came handy when the so called ''campus girls'' were away during strikes/ when guys had run out of food. CHUKU-LEE / MICRO CHIPS / REMINDERS:....... materials used for cheating during exams . the most lethal of all was the ''micro chip'' it's content was only visible to the owner and when developed during the exam could fill a whole exam booklet! (Pub. Admin girls were masters of this great invention E NO DRAW! :....An expression used when the question u have spent sleeping nights preparing for didnt appear on the question paper. 1 Like |
