KOGI State governor, Captain Idris Wada, has told medical personnel of Cedar Crest Hospital, Garki, Abuja where he is undergoing treatment for a fractured thigh not to fly him abroad, his spokesman, Jacob Edi, has said.
Edi told Sunday Tribune, on Saturday, in Abuja, that the governor rejected suggestions that he should be flown abroad for further treatment.
He also disclosed that the governor did not sustain life-threatening injuries and that he was in stable condition.
“He has been receiving calls and he has made calls. He has also received visitors, including Vice- President Namadi Sambo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim; former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ahmadu Ali; and the governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, among others. He is in stable health and his mind his stable,” the Special Adviser to the governor said.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor, Awoniyi, who is currently holidaying in London, is still being expected.
Awoniyi, who travelled out before the Christmas celebration, is expected to come back and take over the affairs of the state in the absence of Governor Wada.
Reports emanating from government officials indicated that the Awoniyi is expected in the state before Monday as it would take the governor some time to recover fully to resume office.

They should Review and restructure the Powers in the office of the Governor and president of the Country let us see if people will be willing to die in office like some of these Governors. The first thing he should have talked about should have been handing over temporary to the next in line before talking of going over seas or not.

If the Governor is on the same rank/power with the most Senior Civil servant like the Head off service then all this nonsense will cease and people will reconsider even remaining in office after such a life threathening incident.

Talking about misplaced priorities and the i dnt give a damn about the people attitude of most of our leaders. How can a deputy governor be still holidaying when his boss is undergoing treatment from an accident that would've even claim his life?On hearing such news,he should've flown down and meet with his boss in order to close any vaccum in leadership of d state. Thats d first thing any leader does.Even nature abhors vaccum. Both d gov and deputy dont have d interest of their people at heart. Are we also sure d deputy is not undergoing some kind of treatment abroad? That could be d only reason for such delay, not some holiday.God help us
