kelly86: go to edx.org, type "introduction to computer science" you'll see the one that belongs to Harvard by david malan. take this course and learning to code in any language will be a breeze. make sure you do the assignments to help develop your knowledge. and in case you are wondering how to download the videos, click on the "youtube" icon on the videos and it will take you to their youtube page, type "magic" between "youtube" in the link. e.g "youmagictube......" then make sure you click on mp4 and the rest is history. this is how i'm learning and it's the best experience so far. with determination you can achieve anything by yourself as most programmers are self taught. good luck bro 2 Likes |

Hello programmers, I have been dreaming to be a programmer so I just got a laptop but no money to start the training, so I want to know if it's possible to learn web development on my own using online resources without a physical tutor. |

This is an excellent article on the road map to being a software developer. Every current technology that need to be known is being mentioned in the diagram Roadmap to Web Development Any question please ask I can give any one a brief overview of most of those technologies. We need to raise the standards of our coders in nigeria |

Am a year2 uniport computer science student, am also trying to build my coding schools thou i have knowlege in PHP+MYSQL. But my problem is everybody wants to be a webdeveloper. What about the mobile development,PC development, machine programming, telecomm blablabla..as in,there is much to learn but all i see are intrested webdevelopers. Don't 4get,even an Accounting Student can pick up HTML,SERVER and CLIENT SIDE scripting and dive into development of websites but he would get head ache if he tries programming an operating system(FIRMWARE).. Am learning python now because it is general purpose and after it, i move to C++ OR JAVA. I love google so much,so am taking my first python class at http://developers.google.com/edu/python |

sellyjeffery:Nice one. Move in to C instead of c++, this will help you in learning Matlab as their syntax are almost the same, many big companies are dumping c & cpp for Matlab as it's more effective and does more of what the above mentioned can do. Shalom |

sellyjeffery: Good to see a uniport guy, am in UST, i learnt python while in year one, of all the programming language i have learnt and known the simplest is python - simple syntax but very powerful. we have so much websites than people to view them, web development is no longer regarded as important as it use to be. Things like app, software development, games, AI has taken over the market now. GOOD luck with your python programming, am currently learning java. |

Web development is the way of the future. Yea c# is kool but most native development is more appreciated on mobile devices. Furthermore companies dont need to build multiple native apps any more because they can serve on purley web with a good look and feel Web dev provides a unified means to deliver content to various platforms for super cheap. Please stop looking at older technologies if anything we shoild focus on emerging tech. Cloud architectures , single page applications. Mastering Angular JS alone sets you up for a good career. As someone who works in the field. Id choose laravel over python tbh 1 Like |
