This is definitely not one of the records to be proud of. In fact, this is one of those issues that might prompt some to jettison their love for the fatherland. At a time that the dreaded disease, poliomyelitis, has been eradicated in all but three countries of the world, the disease is flourishing in some partsof Nigeria. In fact, right now, Nigeria has 94 per cent of polio cases in the entire world.
The remaining six per cent is shared by Pakistan and Afghanistan. This is in no doubt a false statistic/percentage. So Somalia, Niger R, Chad,Mali,Equados,Cuba, Sudan are free of poliomyelitis decease?

Even in the notable northern part of Nigeria,the percentage from the recent has drastically reduced due to incessant giving of anti-poliomyelitis drug to the children.
