Lagos ==> Ibadan ==> Oyo ==> Ogbomosho ==> Ilorin in my Honda City 2009 model. It was fun.

Well, I've driven from Alaska to Madagascar before and it was one hell of a journey.

The longest road trip I have undertaken was from Lagos to Otukpo in Benue state to see a friend; but the longest road trip I have driven myself was from Lagos to Enugu.

Piyke: Trip: Enugu-Gombe ( and return several times)

Distance: 589miles (one way)

Duration: 12-13hrs

Route: Enugu-Kogi-Benue-Nasarawa-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe.
Alternate route: Enugu-Kogi-Benue-Taraba-Yola-Gombe.

These trips were during my nysc in 2011. I used Google maps during most times and was suprised on how accurate it was for use in Nigeria.
Feel free to adjust the format as you deem fit. It's just a thread for fun.

Kai bros, Enugu - Gombe is a lot less than 12hrs if you had followed this route...Enugu-Otukpo-Makurdi-Lafia-Akwanga-Jos-Bauchi-Gombe

From DC to FL (Miami) about 1,080 miles and completed my trip in about <18hrs due to traffic. Other than traffic, trip should have been completed in <16hrs.

Wallie: Just came back a couple of days ago from a trip up north

Maryland -> Delaware -> New Jersey -> New York -> Connecticut -> Massachusetts -> New Hampshire -> Vermont -> Montreal QC -> Trois Rivieres QC

850 miles (1368 km) one way which is about 14 hours with no traffic but it probably took me about 17 hours to get back due to heavy snowfall in parts of Canada and Vermont.

I'm sure there are people that will easily beat the 850 mile distance as I know some people drive from the West Coast to the East Coast (2800 miles – 40 hours no traffic). I intend on trying it someday!

So do I, my next trip is VA to Tx, about 1500miles.. grin grin

My longest single trip was from San Diego to Fontana (CA) that lasted for 1hr 30mins (about 94miles)

Aba to Enugu (to and from)
Aba to Aguleri (to and from)
Aba to Eket (To and from)
And countless other routes.... I love driving, especially long trips with a good car and sound engine.

approximately 4hours 24minutes, was going at an average of 110km/hr. I don't go more than 140km/hr.

My longest distance I've ever driven is Ibadan-Ogbomoso.
Took me 1hr 20min. grin
Ibadan->Oyo->Ogbomoso.
Car was Peugeot 406.

Probably did about 6 of those trips.

I was on the road for almost 12 hours...the journey was all sorts of annoying and tiring angry undecided

Lagos to sokoto with my Baby boy 2000 model V6. Left Gidi 0530 got to Sokoto around 2200hrs. Worst road. Lagos - Ibadan - Jebba - mokwa - Kontagora - yauri - koko - jega - shagari - sokoto. Drove all alone with my bottle of Red Label. I jst dey go my tin.

Haha, I'm about to embark on the same trip, if there isn't any traffic, give or take average 75mph, I will be @ my destination in 20/21.5hrs. Like you said, the problem with driving is that you have to stop often, stretch for a few minutes and then continue...Midnight driving is the BEST, start at 10pm, hit the highway and by 7pm, you've arrived. grin
