shymexx: Anyway, I want to drive from where West Africa starts from, off the coast in Calabar, down to Cape Verde - up North to Senegal, Burkina Faso, Chad, Niger - and Back to Calabar.

Should do that probably by next summer. cool

It was Lagos to Ghana though it wasn't that far if not those borders'protocols..I wouldn't call it my fartest until I drove myself from Lagos to calabar to ogoja to obudu cattle ranch..it was one time life experienced. Not forgetting the day I made Lagos to Kano too non-stop..all these journeys were done by my MISUBISHI OUTLANDER.

Los Angeles to Dallas, 3,000 miles, 24 hours non stop each way.

Probably did about 6 of those trips.

We are not children here now. How can you drive 24hrs non stop. Even if you be superman, you car go need petrol na!

Furthest I've driven so far was in my uni days.

Togo at Aflawu (ghana's border) to Kano, Kano state.

Route: Togo - Benin Republic - Lagos - Ogun - Oyo - Kwara - Jebba and up North to Kano.

I had my fun on the road for over 24 hours.
I was driving a German Machine, so expect nothing less. It was a BMW grin

I did Bouake, Cote d'Ivoire to/from Lagos over 10 years ago in a BMW 3 series.
Drove for three days/ two nights with stops in Cape Coast, Ghana and Lome on my way to Lagos.
On the way back we spent the night in Accra and some town after the Ivorian border (forgot the name now)
Just checked Google Earth for the distance: 1,429kms

Port-Harourt - Osogbo..

11hrs 27mins.

Route: Port-Harcourt - Owerri - Onitsha - Asaba - Benin - Ondo - Ekiti - Osogbo..

Traffic took a good 2 hrs 30 mins of this time..



2nd:: Port-Harcourt - Lagos..

9hrs..

Have never driven outta Benin city (Edo State).
Reason=== my dad wont allow me drive his car that far!! He doesn't even let me drive his car...i use Ojokokoro eyes.
NB== he has 3 cars bt hides d keys.

Lafia-makurdi 45mins,
Makurdu -otikpo 30mins
Propo- enugu (nsuka) 2hrs.

Hw cm it took u 1.5days.

Lagos - Makurdi,and back to lagos 850km each .
Route:Lagos-Ibadan -akure -okene-ajaokuta-ayangba-ugbokolo-otukpo -alaide -makurdi.
I made in 12hrs on each with a Benz c-class 2001 model.

Interesting.... I need to crosscheck this. USA is a "Continent"... remove South America and you have a huge continental nation. Yet they are not struggling to keep the behemoth together unlike us, Naija

In Nigeria: I ve done abuja-calabar7hrs, bayelsa-adamawa a day's journey, Lagos to sokoto a day plus, Enugu-Lagos 8hrs, abuja-bayelsa by land(yenagoa)8hrs then yenagoa-ogbia 2hrs and amakalakala to nembe by sea 3hrs45min. In Africa Lagos Nigeria to Abidjan Cote D'ivoire (seme-Benin-togo-Ghana-cote-d'ivoire). Senegal-the Gambia. Zimbabwe-south Africa. In Europe: London-Italy, London to Spain and back, Belgium to Switzerland. Greece to Cyprus. I am a gypsy of some sort. I love to travel. I don't drive, I enjoy being the passenger! wink

Lagos -Makurdi( through Onitsha Enugu) - Abuja - Kano- Maiduguri- Abuja Lagos- took me 5 days. Picked something in Makurdi, Lagos to Makurdi took 14 hours, Makurdi to Maiduguri took me 15 hours, Did what I wanted to do in a day and set off very early the following day. Maiduguri to Akure 15 hours, rested in the night. Then Akure 3.5 hrs. Way back 2009 in a 16 years old merc benz 190.

Drove from Vancouver to Ottawa then Toronto and back to Vancouver with two friends.
Total journey was 4.5 Days, fun road trips which resulted in 3tickets for me, 3 between my other two friends. grin cool

afanda: Lagos to sokoto with my Baby boy 2000 model V6. Left Gidi 0530 got to Sokoto around 2200hrs. Worst road. Lagos - Ibadan - Jebba - mokwa - Kontagora - yauri - koko - jega - shagari - sokoto. Drove all alone with my bottle of Red Label. I jst dey go my tin.

Lagos to Uyo and Uyo to Abuja (12hrs each) I also did Glasgow to London (11hrs).

NnamdiN: Uyo to Ikot Ekpene(about 45minutes) grin that's the farthest my over-protective dad can allow. When I have my own ride, I intend to try uyo to Anambra

About 10 hours In 2003 Honda Accord Coupe

Nice post. I've done the following trips:

Port harcourt to Owerri, duration - 1hr 30mins, 2005 Lexus GX470

Umuahia to Port harcourt, duration 1hr 20mins with the bad road and traffic. speed - an average of 110km/hr car - Toyota corolla 2005

Abeokuta to ibadan, 50mins, Nissan sunny, average speed 90km/hr

I'm so looking forward to more.....driving is an hobby with a very good car though

I made a trip from Lagos to Kwara and back same day. 12 hrs trip with an EOD 2004
