It is now very clear to all discerning minds that; the House of Reps is on a vindictive mission aimed at crippling both the SEC DG and the CBN Governor, all because they have been bold and courageous enough to look them in the face and expose their sleazy affairs.

Only recently, the house in apparent reaction to the SEC’s DG’s exposure of Herman Hembe, refused to appropriate funds for SEC in the 2013 budget unless she was sacked. They ignorantly forgot that there are other Nigerians with families that work in SEC who have families to cater for and who will be adversely affected by this very unprofessional approach. Tomorrow Nigerians will be told that they are the true representatives of the people.

On the part of the CBN Governor, his offence is that he touched on the very sensitive constituency project matter which the house felt was their exclusive preserve and also refused to submit his budget for scrutiny as the Act setting up the CBN granted him that autonomy. The CBN governor had stated that 25% of our National budget is spent on keeping these people who sit for only 107days in a year and that he was not bound to submit his budget for scrutiny and defence. This alarm and clarification was not received with kindness by the buccaneer house. They reacted by summons and threats and when the CBN Governor arrived, he was too intellectually fecund and advanced for them to handle. They now decided to whittle down his powers, no matter how negatively it will affect the Economy.

They hurriedly put together a bill to water down the powers of the Governor and only recently, they decided to move the banking supervisory function away from the CBN! How else can one describe this mad haste to be vindictive? Though not a fan of the CBN Governor, it does not stop me from condemning any perceived injustice to his person and office.

It is funny that both Herman Hembe and Farouk Lawal still sit comfortably in the house, making contributions to the laws been passed in this country. The house has not deemed it fit to take similar action on these fellows who have brought the house to great disrepute, but will stop at nothing in their quest to be vindictive . We are all watching!!!

Lovely write-up. If only our actions reinforce what we say and secretly agitate about, we would surely hold these dishonourables accountable for thier incompetence....it's rily funny cos these so called leaders are not ghosts or spirits, they live amongst us and some are acquaintances and members of our extended family or clan. but we never challenge them or question them to thier face....we are such a "pu.ssy set of whiners". Complain, sit and look, then when the corruption, evil, injustice is perpetuated, we cry more then later go to church n mosque to hear forgiveness n how "GOD JUDGES THE WICKED" with pastor n Imans quoting and misquoting passages to suit their whims. I will liken the psyche of many Nigerians to the early 20th century Jews until the holocaust caused a national rebirth and change of attitude. Sorry if I derailed your thread, just trying to show a correlation between our attitude, mentality and they persistent problems beguiling this country.

Back to the issue of SLS and the dishonourables, For their egos to be effectively masturbated after that SLS confrontation, the power of the cbn governor has to be whittled down DAMN! the people.how many dishonourables give audience to their constituency members after election?? They all sit in Abuja looking for how to get thier share of national cake. Mind you, they know an average Nigerian dosent even know the functions of CBN and thinks the apex Bank only prints money.

In a nutshell, which ever way you cry about this issue, if they want to pass a bill to render the CBN Governor useless, they will surely follow it up and even get presidential assent by playing the impeachment polictics and use the media to misinform the masses. Soon, Mrs Oteh will be redeployed to another MDA and there is nothing anybody can do, you will only make noise like "occupy Nigeria" and keep quiet.
