I wanted to contribute in clarifying this matter, so I wrote to FDA which approve drugs in the USA, where Mr. Iwu was said to have been involved. For obvious reasons, I have deleted all real names involved in the correspondence

I am writing to inquire if you (FDA, I mean) do provide information on individuals involved in drug discovery submitted for FDA approval. If so, I would love to know whether a certain Professor Maurice Iwu was involved in the discovery of the newly-FDA approved anti-diarrheal drug for HIV/AIDS patients known as fulyzaq (crofelemer).

I am asking this to clarify myself on some arguments presently going on about his involvement with this new drug.

One things is clear: a A drug with that name was approved about the 28-31st of December last year by FDA, agreeing 100% with the report from Nigerian newspapers. What is not clear is if Iwu was involved, and if so, to what extent.
