Mali Intervention Force - Ghana Army Chickens Out by Rossikk(m): 3:08am On Jan 15, 2013 |
Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Guinea are contributing forces to the Nigerian-led West African intervention force in northern Mali, leading some analysts to question the glaring absence of GHANA from the force. Is this once again a sad demonstration of the lily-livered nature of the Ghanaian Armed Forces? One can imagine the sheer terror on the faces of Ghanaian officers at the prospect of their pampered troops having to engage fearsome Jihadists in the hot northern Mali desert. Where in fact would Ghana be without Nigeria defending her at every turn? Because of course if the Jihadists are allowed to settle in Bamako, Ghana is just below them. How long before a Jihadist march on Accra? So it is in Ghana's interest to develop some military balls. How long can we (and the rest of West Africa) keep carrying Ghana? 1 Like |

My question is what are the mali troops doing? Sitting and waiting for someone to do their dirty jobs? I heard they are busy being drunk wit the power of overthrowing the goverment. 1 Like |

And when in history has Nigeria defended Ghana. Ghana has never had a civil war in its history and its also a Christian country so it doesnt have Islamist sectsto destroy the beautiful country. The military are on top of issues which makes us the most peaceful country in Africa. For your information, nigeria army is only about numbers with no brains 3 Likes |

Nigeria needs to increase the military spending for the moment.look at the current status of military equipments, expecially in the airforce. Our Nigeria needs to reclaim her sold status as an african superpower.who should dictate militarily or economically if not Nigeria? I think democracy don't work in some cases, let the military takeover to clean-up. |

torgbe: Stewpid post. The contribution of Nigeria army is one of the problems in Mali-collecting bribes, unnecessary road blocks and chicken mentality strategies. Jihadist cant try their stup!dity in Ghana. Just ask who is controlling the situation in southern Sudan and you will know the progressive nature of the Ghanaian army. Ghana army has just been contacted to lead the AU force in Somalia too, that tells u the strength of the Ghanaian army Who contacted ''Ghana army'' to lead which force in Somalia? Who said there is a single Ghanaian soldier in South Sudan, much less Ghanaians ''controlling'' anything there? You think you're talking to fools here? Kindly post a link to your sources, or stop posting lies. |

torgbe: Fools like rossik will continue to be fools. Nigeria is at the verge of collapse due to insecurity(BOKO HARAM,MEND,KIDNAPPINGS etc) and u talk about ur army strength.PURE PROPAGANDER.continue living ur retrogressive nigeria life.bwahahaaaa.jux check ghanaweb.com Ghana is sending troops to Mali to deal with what nigeria is strugling to do Ghana is NOT sending troops to Mali. They are 'sending engineers' according to Sky News. As for Nigeria ''collapsing'', they've been predicting Nigeria's ''collapse'' since the 1960s, and we're still here. No doubt we'll still be here in the next 100 years and jobless analysts like you will still be predicting our ''imminent collapse''. Olodo. 1 Like |

why did you release the argentine ship as soon as you heard they had deployed their navy to take their ship by force? It seems you know nothing about this kind of problem we have in west africa at the moment. Do you think the terrorists will be ok with some part of west africa? They have been involved in expansionism. Ghana will not be spared. |

Rossikk: Nigeria, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Guinea are contributing forces to the Nigerian-led West African intervention force in northern Mali, leading some analysts to question the glaring absence of GHANA from the force. your post conjures up an image of a slave beating his chest about how great he is because massa has appointed him chief enforcer on massa's looting mission. when are you going to get it into your head that france, america and britain are only in mali to strip that country of its resources, did america, france or belgium all countries with various economic interests in rwanda at the time intervene when 1 million rwandans where massacred in a space of 3 months? nigeria's military is UNDER INSTRUCTIONS FROM US AFRICOM TO DEPLOY TROOPS TO ANY RESOURCE RICH AFRICAN COUNTRY IN ORDER TO ASSIST IN US/EU's plan to boot china out of africa and loot these countries of their resources. even europeans knows that this whole terrorism excuse is pure BS and has nothing to do with liberating mali from terrorist occupation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rhtoLc6hnT4 1 Like |

donroxy: Rossike, hahahahaha!!My brother don't mind these people. I keep wondering, "where does all their money go?" Gold, diamonds, oil, everything, these people produce. With just 20 million population. Yet a decent battalion they cannot raise. Their airforce, a complete joke. Navy? Near non-existent. Go to their Accra, you won't see a single skyscraper, or even a proper cBd. Just boxy soviet type buildings dotted around the place, built by Nkrumah way back. So where is all their money going? 1 Like |

Ghana unlike Nigeria can not be pushed around that easily. They succeeded in Re-denominating their currency, they built power stations that supports their growing economy irrespective of the severe covert pressure on them by Uk, the pushed back the Subsidy Removal Dictate by the IMF/World Bank cartel, they have secured much of their energy resources including oil and gas completly bypassing the west austerity conditions, they are building up there education sector unlike Nigerians which is collapsing. Ghananian Army is for the protection of the Sovereign Nation of Ghana and not for fighting Imperialistic Wars at the order of their white masters. Looking at how smart they are they sent engineers instead . 3 Likes |

So in order to show that Nigeria is great we must lambaste our Ghanaian neighbors? The amount of jingoism one sees about these days is disgusting. Let readers know that not all Nigerians are this shallow. BAWSS1 and many other sensible citizens are proud Nigerians and do not endorse this deplorable behavior. We love you Ghana. Haters can jump off 3MB for all we care. 2 Likes |

enought of all the hostility. Ghana is a poor but developing country on the right, track end of story. Nigeria is also a poor and developing country and.........we also want to be a leader -something we can conceptualize as ''the nigerian exceptionism''. Africas problem has always been nigerias problem and lets just ignore what ever ghana does. Ghanians have always and will always be light years behind nigeria in world politics. We all knew how naive nkrumah was , in the 1960s he said africa should form a single state ,balewa simply replied him that we were big enough and if any state want to join us the should let their intentions known. U can also find out how the coup in ghana has nigerian influences. In african politics theres no difference between ghana and cape verde |
