Welcome to the new world, there are going to be more of this kind of flashes of severe wheather disasters

This is odd. It does rain in Jan but hardly ever this heavy and destructive. U expect this kind of rain towards mid-year.

The world is really changing.

Use your common sense, granny.

Tinubu is in Lagos, this is an Ekiti and Ondo problem. When has Peter Obi helped Abia with enviromental cases like this?

Have engineering codes been established so that constructed buildings (residential or commercial) meet design standards to withstand heavy rains and wind?

It's one thing to have a few homes destroyed and quite another to have 200. Completely haphazard planning and building.

Miss Ileke eediot the dumbo, today is your lucky day, you may actually learn something in use of English ,if only you'll be attentive.
Now listen very carefully,I will only do this once

The verb "were" is not only used for plural pronouns, you may have been playing with the little boys when that lesson was taught in school grin
It is used here as a subjunctive when making a hypothetical statement.i am supposing you know the meaning of that big word hypothetical grin grin
Or you want it translated to Ekiti? grin

Fela is not alive,so the sentence "if Fela were alive" is 100% correct according to the rules of the English language

That is the reason I'll say

If I were you, I would be dumb grin
And that statement would be correct because I am not you.( so I am not dumb) grin
But someone as daft as you are would have probably said "if I was you" since you believe " were" only goes with plural

"If I were home today, I'd be eating eba" is also correct because I am not home
Same rule of using subjunctives

Now have you learned something from me today?
Mumu grin
