Car Falls Off 3rd Mainland Bridge Into The Lagoon by topeorekoy(m): 1:05pm On Jan 26

A vehicle has skidded off the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge and plunged into the lagoon.

The Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, while confirming the incident to PREMIUM TIMES, stated that the accident happened at the Adekunle junction of the bridge.

“A private vehicle fell into the water. Rescue people have sighted the vehicle and are trying to pull it out,” said Sadiq Abdulrahman, FRSC Unit Commander Lagos Island.

Unconfirmed reports say it was two Sport Utility Vehicles, but Mr. Abdulrahman said that more details would be known after rescue operations.

Witnesses say one body had been recovered from the lagoon and rushed to a nearby hospital.

I hear that also from traffic radio, and the Lagos state commissioner for transportation has confirmed the rescued of the only occupant of the car and he has been rushed to general hospital.
Glory be to God.
I really commend the effort of all those that participate in the rescued of that life, You really done great today

I was coming from oworo τhis morning after environment when i heard a loud bang! I didnt see the vehicle because it happend so fast and it almost took RRS mobile station along with it. Those policemen aŋԂ LASMA officers where luck that they a bit far from the scene. undecided

I just drove past the scene. I experienced d traffic from Berger towords Alagomeji. Though the accident occurred on the other side of the road but the traffic affected people coming from Oworo end. As at the time I left, the vehicle has not been recorvered.
