donobi: If anybody believes that Super Eagles will defeat Ivory Coast should pls come with a $1000 and let bet, send me an email with this address donobiaustine@yahoo.com. I'm supporting Ivory Coast.

When was the last time Cotedivorie won the trophy? Mr Ivorian ? Where have all these ivorian gods of soccer been since all these years ? Remember all those years we won bronze and silver, they also featured. What did they go home with? Even the last time we won, we beat them on the way to the trophy. Please shake off your fear it is only football. If we lose, there is always another competition. Stop shaking and don't denounce your fatherland out of cowardice. Be a man and believe in Nigeria. Anything can happen in football.

Ivory Coast have the better players and are the tournament favourites.they are tactically disciplined and have a better coach. In Yaya Toure and Drogba they have two massive and experienced players.
On the other hand Nigeria are the underdog with a tactically unaware man as our coach. Our best player Mikel has consistently refused to rise to his potential.
In short the Nigerian team has no defined pattern of play and as such the odds are not in our favour at all.
However I have a sneaky feeling Nigeria will win this game and the game will be closer than people think. It might just be the upset of the century!

folahann: Na wa o. Even if Ivory Coast loses by 10goals, they'll still be 1st. They can even afford to play their 2nd string and rest their main squad for the Nigerian match.

God please don't let the goals be plenty, minimize the goal margin so that we can be happy losers.
yes i believe the media call it gallant losers such will be awash in the dailies on monday grin

Story!!!!

The point is not that the Ivoriens are invincible. It is that "these our boys wey nor fit make 5 complete passes, wey no fit score Ethiopia in open play, wey nor fit hold on to a lead against a less fierce attacking side like Zambia and Burkina Faso, nor go fit score CIV".

How many chances do our players create per match? Whatever your answer, you should expect a lower figure against CIV.

No need to ask God for miracle. Instead ask that God help us avoid a disgrace.

Super Eagles should better know who they are going into this match to meet. What? with the Eagles dismal outing so far in this tornament, much isnt expected. But truth be told, the nigerian media has not done our eagles justice, by not airing their matches.

In as much as Ivory Coast are the favourite, they are still beatable. Zambia did it last year. If our defence can be focused and the strikers utilise their chances, Nigeria will carry the day.

Mumu like you am just being a realist, if you check that ethiopia game is even fixed.
You mean a country that can afford to give each of its players 30,000 dollars and riddled with corruption can pay refree a token too or some players of ethiopia or why actually do you think the match was fixed?please explain more.

If we are really ready for the AFCON trophy, there's no reason why we should fear the ivorians or any other Tough team. At a point in the competition, we would still get to meet them.

With this crop of Nigerian players, I think it would be far better to get knocked out by a big team like Ivory Coast Than to be humiliated by small Togo.

truth is that the nigerian team does not appear to have a shape or pattern, i think the nigerian team have been wobbling hence difficult for thier strikers to get balls at the back of the net i seee players running around the field for the last five games without any clear purpose, i have watched an eagles team that cannot keep the ball on ground and make a clear cut move from defence to attack in three games, i have seen an eagles team that cannot sting passes together, even when our best player is a winger and attracts free kicks, we dont have any good freekick taker or penalty taker in the team..... i wonder what the coach is doing

IVORY COAST is a better organised team and devoid of sentiments is a good team, we cant blame refree or blame it on a work in progress, burkinafaso dont have all the big stars in the world but the are organised, ethiopia are the lowest ranked side in the tournament and are very mobile and purposeful, its a shame....

Fear Not . In 2004, we sent the star studded Cameroon team home at this stage, we can repeat it again. God is on our side to raise up Moses again for deliverance.
