Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us"

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us"

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us"
And now let the weak say, "I am strong"
Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us"

Give thanks
We give thanks to You oh Lord
We give thanks.

Happy Birthday Dude. May your cup overflow with all that your heart desires with each new year God adds to your life. May you always have cause to give thanks. May His praises always be on the tip of your tongue. May your family & friends be blessed and be a source of blessing to you. May all that concerns you be brought to perfection by His grace. And may your life be a testimony of His greatness. Amen smiley.

advocate666: op, how did your great grand father celebrate his birthdays?
I never met him and so I never knew him. But my great father Sunday Eke celebrated his own birthdays.

Do you think he was shouting the name of a foreign god on those days or do you think he was maybe giving thanks to his own ancestors?

My grandfather Ugwubujo from Umuda Nsigwu from Umuahia in Abia State never believed in idols.
He believed in only one God.
He was a great and unique man of great wisdom.
His belief is simple, and yet profound.
Onye Kwe, Chi ya e Kwe, and
Ekwensu bu, ekwe ei, ye su.

My own father as an Ifa and Ogun priest believed in gods and idols until he repented and was born again before he passed on.

For me, my life is to shine brighter in the shining light of the countenance of the awesome glory of our infinite God Who is above religion, tribe, race, class or creed.

All I am asking is for you to make an educated guess of whether your great grand father worshipped and praised foreign gods?

Ekwensu was a great igbo deity by the way.
