Check out how the Chinese military is employing hackers to attack American corporations. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-21502088

Below are some highlights.

A secretive branch of China's military is probably one of the world's "most prolific cyber espionage groups", a US cyber security firm has said.

The scale of the Chinese hacking alleged by the computer security firm Mandiant is striking. Until now the bulk of this hacking has been a digital version of old-fashioned industrial espionage - stealing designs and company secrets.

But there is a more sinister side to this activity as well. Chinese hackers are alleged to have a growing interest in gaining access to key parts of the US infrastructure - gas lines, power grids and waterworks. President Barack Obama himself warned during his recent State of the Union address that the nature of the cyber threat was changing.

Gaining access to critical systems is the key. Once inside the digital perimeter - especially if the intrusion is not identified, there is the possibility of causing real physical damage to the infrastructure that the computers control.

Among the findings about APT1 in the report were that it:

-is staffed by hundreds, possibly thousands, of proficient English speakers with advanced computer security and networking skills

-has hacked into 141 companies across 20 industries, 87% based in English-speaking countries, and is able to steal from dozens of networks simultaneously

-has stolen hundreds of terabytes of information including blueprints, business plans, pricing documents, user credentials, emails and contact lists

-stayed inside hacked networks for an average of 356 days, with the longest lasting 1,764 days

-targeted industries identified by China as strategically important under its Five Year Plan for economic growth

How can Nigeria and other African countries continue to entrust key infrastructure projects to China (like the AU HQ in Ethiopia) when they can easily backstab us in the future and sabotage us? How can anyone do business with these crooks? They smile while doing business with you but then they will steal everything they can get their hands on.

Yet another lie mostly from US. The world is laughing at the US. We all know they can hijack servers or make false claims. It can be done from a US Naval ship in South Korea. (Hacking Chinese IP addresses or making fake ones and attaching a Beijing or other Chinese address to it.) The world is tired of these US Thugs. Maybe if US Engineers go make a High-speed train from California to Virginia they can learn more discipline.

Good point. The Western media has completed ignored the almost certainty that hackers from the US government are also stealing information across the world.

You just said what's on my mind. Truth be told. Hacking is a serious crime and one shouldn't support it cos he wants to call out some lot, but that doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye on the hypocrisy of the west. Infact, they don't have the legitimacy to accuse anybody.

How can you demoniz china for hacking, while you do the exact thing you accuse them of and expect the world to judge with double standard.

Right from 1952. The US has been using sattellite to intercept radio and electronic transmission of countries all over the world.
The NSA has been stealing data inside computer networks and hardrives of her adversery and even her ally. France, iran, north korea etc were victim last year.
I'm not even talking about private government contracted hacker's

Most intelligence briefing US president receives, comes from government cyberspies. This assertion was credited to Mike McConnell, director of national intelligence under President George W. Bush.

So i don't see any angel here, neither is US in the position to caution china. They're all partner in crimegrin.
hacking is a kinda culture for intelligence organization tho. I doubt it will stop.
