@topic, 512 RAM ain't good enough, but who cares, with the right kind of mmc and ram expander, i can do wonders...and the price still a likkle bit high IMO.

But i swear down i dont get the techno happiness thingy. Are they now rootable and flashable?

The funny thing is this shows that the update hype on android is not universal. Most folks dont care about updates. If they did u wont see folks buying techno.

Or does techno release updates now? Gingerbread n ICS .... which year will they get to JB? 2015?

Dude.....recent peeps who want to catch in on the Android flavour don't care about updates and rooting, so far its Andriod, and Techno said it must be cheap, they are game.

Besides, Techno fones are now rootable, it remains for interested devs. to port the ROMS to the Techno fones.

they have problem with RAM since they started producing phones.

At first they started with K after so many production they now enter KB, after thousands of production they enter MB.

They have not yet reach the number of production to move to Gigabyte. May be ending of this year or next year before they produce a phone with Gigabyte RAM

I have successfully ROOTED my TECHNO N7. Now I have access to all my root apps. Only thing yet missing is custom roms. Its so so easy with unlockroots.

Its so so easy. Just download unlockroot downloader and put ur fone in usb debugging mode, connect with ur pc and select Techno n7. Its actually very easy to root than most fones. Now I have access to all my rooted apps. Only there is no custom roms, but heck I now enjoy all that needs to be enjoyed on rooted system. Am still not missing a thing on the fone, even games run smooth and 32gig card runs flawlessly.

Asides the low RAM, absence of updates and lack of custom roms (how many devs would take their time creating or porting custom roms to Tecno phones?), another thing I'm not feeling on these Tecno android phones are their screens! Pixel density and color quality are quite poor. Display quality (+fonts) still looks China phone-ish. I had to change my neighbour's default clock widget because too many people were thinking his N3 was a fake knockoff Chinese phone. Like seriously, sure, they're making pocket friendly android phones for our local market. Still doesn't mean they can't do something a bit higher end. I mean, c'mon!

you can download and install different clock widgets from the Play store (like the HTC flip clock etc). Press and hold the clock till you see a trash icon at the top of the screen, then drag the clock to the trash to remove it. Then press and hold the blank space on the screen till the options to add stuff to the screen comes up. Select widgets, then scroll down till you find the clock widget you downloaded and installed. Select it and voila, you have a different clock widget.
