@OP I bought my first car Benz 190 at age 23 for N390k after graduation, now I'm 31. The Proceeds was from the sales of shares. The benz was sold for 100k to a friend in February 2008, gave the money to my mum, after which I bought a Toyota camry 1999 model same 2008 for N1.3M. Again I sold the Toyota Camry June 2008 for 900k to travel to Spain. Paid in 200k to the traveling agent's account before I discovered I had been duped by some fraudsters. I never gave up, saved the balance 700k in a trust account. For being stupid, I trekked the street of Lagos for 3months after which I saved and bought a Nissan Altima 2002 model September 2008 for N1,050,000M; used it for 4years before the transmission developed a major fault. Sold it for 250k after I have saved enough money to buy a Honda Accord 2003 model November 2012. Great ride for my kind of business.

Just turned 26. Bought my first car last week, a fairly used toyota corolla first lady for 200k though fixing and repairs will amount to 280k. I do not intend to use it personally but as a cab. Being female I can't drive it myselve so hve to find a good driver. Is it a fair price considering its use?

Liberal2020: Okay Okay guys, from reading all comments, the common denominator is that everyone bought a car in their 20s. What does this translate to...Nigerian economy has been great. Thunder fire anyone who complains about our economy again.

Of course the Nigerian economy is growing from strength to strength ,but some folks are still just there all because the political will isn't great and again GDP is still raw material based ..we're not yet into production of some heavy machinery,equipment and tools in large quantity to export we still import a lot of things.

One reason whilst some folks are still complaining is because they keep comparing Nigeria to other civilized nation because they want to live above their means, even when the country's economy is at its building phase.

finally Nigeria is growing compared to what was available to our parents in the 80s and 90s also remember you have a large number of the population that are in their 40s and 60s that are uneducated and unskilled because then the education system was expensive, not enough schools in remote places , money was hard and couldn't get round to everybody....that is not compare today's neglect and empty promises from politicians that are bent on ripping us off instead of building a more virile economy.

I was 25 and got a 2002 VW Jetta for 1.4m Naira. Drove 2008 civic 2yrs later and now, driving crosstour (pu-c magnet in it's very own standard), but the Jetta remained my favorite because of the handling..

All my cars have been fairly used. My dream is to drive a brand new mercedes or bmw within the next 2yrs. AMEN.
