The Rivers State Governor, Gov. Ameachi have been dropped as the chairman of the Governor's Forum and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Obong Godswill Akpabio is now the new Chair. Got this on 93.7FM News Port Harcourt this morning. GEJ aint smiling! |

Gej met behind closed doors yesterday with PDP Governors. In that meeting a new governors forum was craeted specifically for PDP governors. Akpabio was made the chair of this PDP party governors circle. Amaechi is still the chair of the NGF. 4 Likes |

We have a splinter Governors forum, facilitated by the President of Nigeria. Gej is also in a move to subordinate state governors to his cabinet ministers and in addition to remove local government from under their control. What this means is that FG will have total control of the grassroot and then the Governor is just a 'yes man"! Be careful what you ask for.... While such an arrangement may work in GEJ's favor to penetrate PDP power for political gains, it will create a precedence that will completely fvk up the Southern interest when Hausa, in their traditional power madness, regains the Presidency and continue the practice of using ministers to run states and LGs are accountable directly to the FG. With this balkanisation of the governor forum the most powerful forum will be the northern governors forum with 19 governors out of which 15 are PDP of which may be only jonah jang and that benue governor are loyal to Gej, so do the arithmetic on the primary election and you will know the outcome taking cognisance that a state like Kano has like three states delegate due to their population and number LGA's |
