I was just about to ask the same thing.

Maku and his fellow tourists visited Edo State though Governor Oshiomole said he wanted no part in the tour.

The Borno Governor has also asked the tourists to stay away from his State. Are they also going to disregard him and visit Borno? Or are there no "good governance projects" to inspect in Borno?

you have remained a dullard who has refused to grow common sense. So until GEJ goes to maidugri with the toughest security details and waves to the sky in an empty street or until he goes to meet boko haram face to face himself you wont be satisfied. I hope Bush was also visiting Iraq and Afghanistan during the heat of the war. If this empty show of publicity excites you then you are irredeemably mad.

If not for anything, the word "opposition" is sweet to hear.

After all, even IBB has hailed APC.

For those who do not understand Nigerian politics: the Boko Haram menace is the Northern political thuggery embedded in a religion that belongs to the cave men. APC today stands for the "force" that will return power to the North. As a result, there will be a very good understanding between APC and Boko Haram.

Yes, the 2015 politicking is picking up tempo, but I am yet to be impressed by the APC.

What is the meaning of this?? walking down an empty street with so much security that if a lizard jumps out of a hole the security team will open fire on the lizard.

Dont you people think the entire area is cordonered off already by the security personnel.

Why dont they walk on the street without their security personnel and see what will happen.

Not impressed one bit, more like exchanging one devil for the other.

Eight governors from the major opposition parties met on Thursday at the Government House, Maiduguri, Borno State where they continued discussion on the formation of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

They also discussed the prevailing insecurity bedeviling Borno and Yobe States, both governed by the All Nigeria Peoples Party.

Maiduguri is the hotbed of the Boko Haram insurgency and the governors appear to have ventured into the city to shame President Goodluck Jonathan who is yet to make a state visit to the Borno State capital.

The governors met in the troubled city in spite of reports of explosions in a part of the metropolis.

Bush visited iraq during the heat of the war. So think up another retardeen excuse for Jonathans cowardice

Borno and Yobe State are part of Nigeria and what happens there is‎ GEJ's business. Hiding in Aso-rock like a petrified chicken is‎ senseless and cowardly.

Meanwhile as Dayo pointed out Bush actually visited Iraq during the war...

Are you serious? If it was so easy to walk the streets of Maiduguri with a retinue of armed security as these Governors have done, Why does the President and "Commander in Chief" of the Nigerian armed forces not try it? Surely with absolute control over the armed forces, he can command all of the forces to volunteer deploy their best men and ordinances to Borno to guarantee his security while he visits and commiserates with indigenes of the state right?

The President's refusal to visit Borno for whatever reason will continue to haunt his administration and remain a sore point. There is absolutely no justification for that.
