Should FG Grant Boko-Haram Amnesty? by Opiti99: 11:27am On Mar 11, 2013
Boko Haram has become a terrifying force that has continue to undermine the public confidence in the present administration. When the group launched its first bombing attack in 2010, most people complacently assumed that the homogenous militants could be controlled, although undoubtedly dangerous, pretty tamed compared to their counterparts.

Today, the country has recorded series of attacks in different part of the country ranging from killings of innocent people, destruction of properties and continued threat of life everyday. Even it has gotten to the level that foreign organizations has started to wade in to the situation by providing relief materials to victims of the menace(is this Haiti or Sunami?. Few weeks ago, there were rumour that the sect has agreed to ceasefire and to dialogue with the government but the situation took a different dimension when the their leader, Shekau came out to say that they have never proposed for any dialogue.

Now, some notable Nigerians are clamoring for the sect to be granted amnesty by the federal government. Nairalanders, lets look at this development critically, could granting amnesty to the sect be the way forward out of the mess we found ourself in this country?

ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY NO!!

Reason:

1. Boko Haram have no cause they are fighting and have succeeded in taking more lives than the Militants did.

2. If western education is bad, they should withdraw their kids from western schools and enroll them in Almajiri schools.

3. They have no face. Meaning they are ghosts. You cant give amnesty to Nobody.

4. They have no reasonable demands.

5. They are terrorists.

6. THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS.

7. Should the government give the Boko Haram boys Amnesty, next thing you will hear is that MASSOB is now asking for amnesty, NURTW (Dayokanu faction & Bluetooths Faction) would also demand amnesty..

@Op,
Boko Haram is not any terrifying force. They are a bunch of rag-tag cowards who hide behind women and children. And the present administration is not undermine by boko haram. Rather it is the members of boko haram that are undermining themselves by playing hide and seek with JTF bullets. Several of them are now cold specimen or languishing in various jails across the country. Now you could say that their sponsors may be largely unscathed by their activities, but I can tell you that with several arrests and recovering of weapon cache, the sponsors are seeing their investment go down the drain. As the dragnet encircles them, the cry for amnesty will only get louder. This we understand, but are not moved by.

Furthermore, many members of the JTF have undergone counter-terrorism/insurgency training, haunting down and dispatching members of boko haram to join the growing queue for scarce virgins, is the best way they can put their training to use. And we are happy to pay them (JTF) for that!

The amnesty boko haram members deserve is the one they grant themselves. They should drop their weapons and melt back into the civil population while praying for forgiveness for their sins. God may forgive them, but the JTF should grant them hot bullet just between the eyes as reward for their effort, if they fail to grant themselves amnesty! And if you are one of them, I say repent for JTF bullet is at hand!

There shouldnt be any sort of amnesty for criminals that cause attrocities in the land, instead they should be dealt with to the root including the sponsorer and all involved.

considering giving them amnesty is encouraging others to cause chaos and hoping for the same treament .
Re: Should FG Grant Boko-Haram Amnesty? by omiobo: 5:36pm On Mar 11, 2013
Boko haram has committed so much atrocities against humanity. There is no need to grant them amnesty because God can never and will never grant amnesty to devil and his agents. They need to be wiped off the surface of this earth as their role model, the devil will be put to death at end.

Like Unknown Member said, The Federal do not and should never ever negotiate with terrorists....

We av a lot of jobless youths around, and if terrorism is seen as a way of making good money, then some people are ready to pick-up arms....
