1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your doctor confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.
3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.

Preparing for the Birth:

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time breathing didn't do a thing.

1st baby: You pre-wash newborn's clothes, color coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.

Worries:

1st baby: At the first sign of distress--a whimper, a frown--you pick up the baby.

Dummy:

1st baby: If the dummy falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.
2nd baby: When the dummy falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby's bottle.

Nappies:

1st baby: You change your baby's nappy every hour, whether they need it or not.
2nd baby: You change their nappy every two to three hours, if needed.

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, Baby Swing, and Baby Story Hour.

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home five times.

Swallowing Coins:

1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for the coin to pass.

Very funny and quite true. At the 1st birth you are careful about very little something and nothing. By the second,u seem alittle relaxed about the baby.........true

For some strange reasons I didn't experience the first baby thingy,probably because mum gave me one to care for before I actually had mine(my little brother who was 21years my junior).By the time I had mine,I was a pro at baby matters lol,though the first baby thingy happens to most people.Nice piece op.

Quite true, the worries reduce considerably with the arrival of each new baby. I use to so cover my firstbaby no matter the wheather condition and stay awake better part of the night just to make sure she is not exposed in any way but now I go to bed and even leave them in the parlour. Lol

This sooo true! Especially d Nappy part. Guilty guilty guilty! It's just not d same for my 2 kids.

So true:-) when i had my lst child i pic d kind of food i eat but d 2nd child can't control what goes into my mouth. When my first child cries while he was still a baby i do cry too, but now when 2nd child cries i know what could be posibly wrong with her.
