To me, It is simply MEDIOCRITY......most people @ the helm of affairs are not suppose to be there(cuz dem be mediocres na Federal character/political shenanigans brought them in).... Mediocrity thus lead to corruption which thus lead to Bad government!!!! Mediocres do not most times know the reason why they assume certain responsibilities...which is why they worsen issues!!! 1 Like |

Mediocrity!!! Nigeria has everything the US has only in a severly more inferior grade and quality. It's not that the money for world class institutions isn't there, but people expect rubbish, elect rubbish, and celebrate it. Thus the leaders know they can build a road with no side walks and 10% cement 90% sand, and people will celebrate them while they keep the money for themselves. They know they can pay employees 2 months late and on the day of payment the employees will celebrate. Schools know they can hire alcoholics as teachers and nobody will question it. Corruption exists because the culture is to horde money and travel if you want quality. Look at our hospitals and schools. Even the common man will build and buy inferior things to horde money, not knowing that he's making himself suffer in the name of nothing. |

also, nigeria has bad leadership AND bad citizenship and the citizens should be more responsible and stop blaming the government for everything because we're equally guilty. If you tell the average nigerian that you won't take a bribe (which isn't unbelievable) they will act as if you're insane and call you americana. Well they do this in front of their children and the lesson they're teach their children is that it's unusual to be an honest and decent human being. government isn't any more corrupt than churches, markets, and anything else touched by citizen hands. These politicians are citizens after all, it's not military rule anymore. |
